No. hemophilia is the lack of clotting factor in blood. It is actually porphyria, a disease wherein the heme in the hemoglobin molecule is defective. It builds up under the skin, making it pale and is photoreactive, sometimes violently. It causes terrible anemia, and often the urine turnes purple. Insanity frequently results eventually. Since the skin burns in sunlight, it was sometimes called vampire's disease. One "cure" was to consume the blood of others, to alleviate the pain.
