I see lots of similarities between Sci-Fi's marketing of the Dune mini-series and the way they're handling BG2003. Does anyone remember the hype and ads that were running non-stop for "Dune" and "Children of Dune?" Those shows came and went...then out came the DVDs and a few re-runs. Then nothing.

That's how this "Battlestar Galactica" production will go. All hype...then fizzle. Years from now people will see the DVD in a "$5.00 or less" bin and say "I don't remember this coming out."

Don't get me wrong. I thought the Dune series was "okay" but I didn't care for the Sardukar French pastry chefs. Sci-Fi always has to mess up something in their shows.

Believe me...this re-make is doomed to obscurity.
