Missed part 2 of the season finale
Can someone fill me in on whether Jack, Daniel and Sam made it back to the right timeline? or anything that happened in the episode?
Thanks! Jewels |

So in the end, the Alt Jack and Alt Sam got together and of course Daniel and the Alt Teal'c live out their lives in the past. BTW the Alt Daniel was killed by Alt Teal'c because Apothis planted Daniel with a Goa'uld on Chulak. :salute: :Nsalute: |
Whoa.
Can you line that out for me a little slower, as I'm a Stargate neophyte? I thought the present day SG1 were the ones that went back in time and the Alt's would be the one's that located the Stargate in Antartica (timeline where SG1 hadn't really been invented). How did this get reversed? Is Jack a General or not now? (or a retired general so he and Sam can have a relationship?) Is this just one of those episodes they better rerun because it's hard to put on paper in mere words? :D |
They went back in time, and changed the timeline, but left a message to tell the future that time had been altered.
In the future, the altered versions of the same characters also went back in time to set things right. |
Julie -
I checked Skiffy's schedule for the next month. The only episodes of Stargate that are being re-broadcast are from seasons 1-5. If you have broadband or DSL, there are alternate methods for seeing it..... ;) Best, Bryan |
Those are the Monday night and 18:00 eps, aren't they? THey should rerun that ep some future Friday night.

Hammond authorizes a mission to Chulak but not time travel. The team (SG1 plus a few more soldiers) gets captured and Apothis tortures Daniel. Jack and Sam convinces Teal'c to get them the camera and watches the video tape (plot hole here: how does Teal'c know what a video camera is or looks like). Teal'c then give the team all their gear back. When Daniel, now with Goa'uld inside, returns, the team escapes. Teal'c meets (stops) them on the way back to the ship. Teal'c then shoots Daniel and explains why. Of course Daniel recovers a bit and shoots/kills one of the soldiers and is finally killed by Jack and others. A fire fight starts with the Jaffa following them and only Jack, Sam, and Teal'c escapes in the ship. They are being chased and shot up by gliders. Jack doesn't think they will make it back to the gate and that's when Sam suggests using the time device on the ship to go back in time after asking Teal'c if there was a stargate on Chulak 5000 years ago. Then they dialup the gate for Earth and find themselves in ancient Egypt. They land and find a village and are surprised to be recognized and hidden by the locals. That's when the present day Daniel shows up and explains what happened 5 years earlier and asks why the alt's are there. Sam explains that RA took the Giza gate with him after the successful rebellion eventually occurs and that changed the timeline. So the alt's are there to fix the timeline, since they screwed up their own timeline as well. Daniel explains the original rebellion plan to Teal'c and that they now have the weapons and the slaves have been trained by him to fight. Teal'c then suggests changes to the plan to prevent RA from taking the Giza gate and that should fix the timeline. Daniel has concerns but Teal'c says "trust me". Meanwhile, Jack and Sam to back to the ship to try to turn on the ship's cloak, which they didn't know about until the present day Daniel told them. That's when the shippy moments starts when Jack tells Sam she is "hot". Sam brushes it aside saying she is attracted to Daniel types. They get the cloak to work just in time, but it fails just as the Jaffa patrol is about to pass by. Unable to fly away, the Jaffa start shooting the ship up and Jack and Sam run/hide into another compartment. That's when Sam kisses Jack and admits she likes him a lot to Jack's surprise. Daniel and Teal'c show up and of course that's when the successful rebellion begins and they disarm the Jaffa. Jack and Sam decide to make out in the ship after Daniel tells them it safe now and they can come out, but Jack says "in a few minutes". Fast forward to the future and the present day SG1 team is watching the video tape made by the Alt's. Then they decide they don't have to go back in time since they have the ZPM. Later, Jack and Sam are fishing at Jack's pond and a fish jumps out of the water. Sam mentions the "no fish in my pond" comment on the tape, but Jack says it's close enough. The timeline is now close enough to be considered normal again. :salute: :Nsalute: |
I'm so confoozed
*holding head in comical agony* |
Oh, help me. that should have taken half a season! Wheeee!
So the bookish Sam and the fisherman Jack are at his pond or the "real" Jack and Sam that had been on SG1 for years? I'm just a little brain dead, that's all. Your explaination was good, I think I'm losing it in the their dead, then there's another alteration, now they aren't dead department. And Daniel has me completely confused. Is he alive ANYWHERE? I've liked him since the movie. Jewels |

It was the "real" Sam and the "real" Jack, but now they're a couple....fishing in a pond with fish in it! Best, Bryan |

The "real" Daniel is still alive, both in the present and in Ancient Egypt. Only the alt Daniel died, although it would have been more interesting to see the 2 of them, or even both SG1 teams, meet in Ancient Egypt. So everything is pretty much back to normal. Believe the episodes were a way to tie up the Jack/Sam arc since RDA has been severly limiting his appearances on SG1 and RDA wanted to do something about it before relegating himself to occasional guest appearances on the show. Fans would argue it isn't the same since they want the present Sam/Jack to get together not the alternate versions or in some mirror/dream episode. In any case as long as one of them are in the Military, they will never get together. So the alternates living together in the past is the best the writers will allow at this time. It was pretty funny seeing them take turns groping each other in the ship. But with as many relationships Sam has had in the past, one could speculate that a Cameron/Sam arc might come up in the future. Recycle the Jack/Sam arc to create some tension and/or caring feelings between characters. If the writers do it right, it might be ok. The Sam/Jack fans will cry bloody murder though. :D |
My brain is starting to hurt. 2 real Daniels + a dead alt Daniel. I like him but isn't it a very bad thing if he meets up with himself sometime in the future?
The Jack/Sam thing is cute. I thought they couldn't get together if both were in the military, but could if Jack retired and went to civilian DOD. Am I driving all of you nuts yet? I like SG-1 better than TNS, but I've only seen bits and pieces of the series. (I didn't like the symbiant critters in the stomachs of the one alien group, just squimish about that, had to do with an X-Files ep. that creeped me out years ago). |
Thanks for sharing all the details on this season finale. I, too, missed this episode last week and had really wanted to see how they tied up all the "loosed" ends. I liked this season of SG-1 better than 1-5, although there were great episodes in those seasons as well.
While we delving into SG territory, can someone give a recap of the finale for Stargate Atlantis? I also missed it and had really wanted to see it. I do wish Sci-Fi would rerun the entire Friday night lineup on Monday b/c I'd re-watch it every week. Thanks, Rigel :Nsalute: |

Many SG fans, even Daniel fans, have recently said that the cast seems to be going through the motions lately. Some of the characters, like Jack, have turned into cartoon cutouts and limited to saying cute one-liners. But when you take into account that RDA wants to spend more time with his daughter, AT was pregnant, MS just had a kid, etc etc...it's easy to see why the chemistry and stories were often lackluster and unexciting. The characters certainly could be fleshed out more if physical activity had to be limited and the new characters for next season (except for CB) could have been guest stars to introduce them to the viewers and develop their characters a bit. Daniel/Sarah could have been explored more and that would have been a welcome change to see Daniel in a serious relationship. There were hints of a Daniel/Fraiser relationship and they could have done some flashbacks to explain it better. Hopefully the cast additions for next season will put SG1 back on track and better enemies can be found to battle with. :) |

LOL... actually, the "real" team that we have known & loved for years are all dead and the second alternate universe team are the ones who are sitting at Jack's place and fishing. "Real" Team: Jack: Executed after the revolt in Egypt Sam: Ditto Teal'c: Ditto Daniel: Alive in Egypt & helped plan the second revolt. FIRST Alternate Universe Team, created when the first revolt failed and the future went wrong: Jack: Retired Colonel, went back to Egypt to plan the second revolt, FINALLY got to get together with Sam! Sam: Scientist, not a warrior, went back to Egypt to plan the second revolt Teal'c: Loyal to Apophis till he agreed to help Colonel Jack & Scientist Sam escape Daniel: Had a snake in his head, killed by AU1 Teal'c SECOND Alternate Universe Team, created when the second revolt succeeded and the future went mostly right: Jack: General, has fish in the lake Sam: Actually agreed to go to the lake! Teal'c: seems the same Daniel: Seems the same LOL... I love time travel! Especially when it allows Jack & Sam to get together! :salute:  |
