Who stars in TOS One Day after Hand of God?
Here's my TOS dream: We start one day after Hand of God with new actors playing the original roles. I ask you the TOS fan base who today could best play the TOS characters, especially Adama, Starbuck, Apollo, Baltar, Sheba, Cassiopeia, Tigh, Boomer, and Athena? :) :salute:
|
What are your choices?
Since this is a thread regarding a Continuation taking place immediatly following the last osBG ep, then here are my choices- Adama- Ian McKellan Apollo- To be filled in Starbuck- Cary Elwes Boomer- Cuba Gooding Tigh- To be filled in Athena- This girl :D Sheba- To be filled in Cassie- To be filled in Baltar- To be filled in |
Can we go Big Budget Dream Team?
Boomer alternate: Denzel Washington (not practical, but I love the man's acting and he's too young for Tigh Tigh: Morgan Freeman Apollo: Rob Lowe Sheba: Claudia Black, Catherine Bell Cassie: thinking about. Baltar: this is way out of the looney bin--Dwight Shultz |
Adama - Harrison Ford or James Brolin
Apollo - Who's that guy called "Harm" on that Navy lawyer show? Starbuck - James Whelling (sp?) Clark Kent on Superman (Watch his "evil" episodes) Athena - Kristen Kreuk (sp?) also from Smallville Sheba - Angelina Jolie (Put a little more ass kicking back in the character) Tigh - Denzel Washington but might upstage Adama. Danny Glover maybe. Boomer - Will Smith Cassiopeia - Kelly Hu from Scorpion King (I know she isn't blond but she fits the vision) |
Rigel - I could see the girl that plays Callie in TNS saying, "Launch viper now!" and wearing pigtails!
Baltar - We could never afford him but could you see Baltar saying "You can't handle the truth!" I can see it. |
I could realy get into this, lots of good choises!
|
Jewels: Morgan Freeman as Tigh would be really good! I know if they ever did it the budget people couldn't get all these folks but its good to dream.
|
If it was one day after HOG and budget wasn't an issue......
Apollo- Eric Bana(maybe) Starbuck-? Cain- Sean Conery Boomer- Will Smith Sheba-? Athena- Monica Bellucci (maybe) Adama-Anthony Hopkins Tigh- James Earl Jones Cassie-Helen Hunt (maybe) Baltar-( I like Jewles Idea Shultz):) |

The biggest question seems Starbuck. I am going to have to think about that one also. We need someone younger than whoever plays Apollo who is both exciting and plays a courageous man well. People like Brad Pitt are too old. Who is young and yet has a prescence? Too many leading men today that are young look like babies or are short. No Leonardo Di Capria types need apply. Here's a long shot but I wouldn't mind seeing him audition for the part: the guy that plays Smyth, Samantha Jone's boyfriend in the later episodes of Sex and the City. He's tall good looking and looked the part of a strong man when dressed as a barbarian but obviouly capable of emotional scenes. Starbuck has to be old enough to be an officer but young enough to be in YM magazine. |

As for "Shultz", that's Dwight Shultz, AKA Barclay on Trek- TNG and was also on "The A-Team".
|
I vote orlando Bloom for Apollo
Some complete unknown for a male starbcuk Eliza Duschu(sorry spelling-Rowan new avi) for athena still thinking................ |

Wonder if Dirk's children are old enough to play the part :) shultz played Murdock in the A team;) |
i could really go for roger moore as baltar
|
Cast
I like the Orlando Bloom idea, except I can see him more fitting a Bojay type role. I like Roger Moore a lot better than Dwight Shultz. Morgan Freeman for Tigh was excellent too. I could see Sean Connery as Cain, but I would rather see Richard Hatch come back as Adama. Does anyone like, maybe, Brittany Murphy as Cassiopia? Anyway, it was just a suggestion. . . .

Cassiopea: Sarah Michelle Gellar? (Buffy)
|
Sarah would make a better Sheba I think...

Hmm.. recasting... gotta think...
Mel Brooks - Adama Jackie Chan - Apollo Jeff Daniels - Starbuck Wanda Sykes - Athena Ellen Degeneres - Cassie Woody Allen - Baltar (!) Lewis Black - Cain Wayan Brothers - Hector and Vector - And use the Queen Mary for all the Galactica sets... Hey!! You asked!!! Ask a silly question, get a silly answer :D :D :D (Sorry Antelope, couldn't resists :naughty: Only thing I want recast is my leg :D ) :muffit: |
You are funny Muffit!
I like the Sarah Michelle Geller ideas also, especially as Sheba. I keep finding people I like in Smallville also. Here's another from there: I don't know the actors name but the guy who plays Lionel Luther would make a good Baltar. You can't tell if he is pure evil or needs to be pitied. That kind of Baltar would be good in TOS season 2. Now that I remeber who Dwight Schutz is I can see him but I don't think he could fill those shoes. I guess I can't get beyond Barkley in my mind. I am still stuck on a Starbuck. It may well have to be an unknown or I need to start watching movies with younger actors. We seem to have a good crop of young women actors today but are short on the men. Jessica Simpson could play Cassie if you want a young boxum blond who appeals both to the young man and seems to be family friendly. |
Adama: Tom Selleck
Apollo: Tom Welling Starbuck: ? Athena: Erica Durance Cassiopeia: Mercedes McNabb Boomer: ? Tigh: Herb Jefferson Jr Sheba: Rose McGowan |

Tom Selleck would make a good Adama. |
antelope, regarding your non (ie, stuck) Starbuck choice-
Do you know who Cary Elwes is? The link I provided has a pic of him in a Colonial outfit. If you don't recognize the name, then maybe the face? |
I'd take Sarah Michelle as Sheba too, but maybe Catherine Bell as Athena? Or (can't remember her name) that was the companion on Firefly.
I wish we had a spot for Jewel Staite too. I think I better leave the girls up to the guys! Siress Trinia: the woman that played Irena Drevko on Alias Another possibility for Adama: the guy that plays Mr. Briscoe on Alias The guy that plays Arvin Sloane on Alias would make a good Baltar too. |

Robin Hood- Men in Tights, The Princess Bride, Pentagon Wars, Twister and many more ;)
His on-screen personality reminds me a lot of Dirk. |
|
Warrior: Thanks for the info. Now I realize who he is. The only problem is that again he seems to fall into that category of people who may have the right personality but are a bit too old. I can't see a colonial LT being 43 years old.
I really wonder: Where are the young and manly actors? :D |
