Fascinating system, not perfect.

I've run different "NP" scores over the years, "INFP" more consistently.

Hey Larocque :D

Does this mean you took it again or are you giving me a historical account? If I had taken this test when I was a teenager or in my twenties I would probably have been An "I" instead of the "E" but over the years I've changed LOL (just in case no one noticed;) )
I just thought I would be my usual brat like self and point out the following...;) :D

"Although two well-developed individuals of any type can enjoy a healthy relationship, INFP's natural partner is the ENFJ, or the ESFJ. "

martok2112 September 29th, 2004 03:25 AM

The Great Martok2112 LOL

So, at the request of Julix, I took this test.

Here are the results.

ISTP= Engineer - Values freedom of action and following interests and impulses. Independent, concise in speech, master of tools. 5.4% of total population.
Somehow, I seem to have missed the more accurate descriptor of ISFP, which would have made me a performer (which I am. :) )

Hmmm...interesting. Never thought of myself as an engineer. Especially considering that I don't always use the right tool for the right job. :D

Here's my Ennegram. Glad I don't need an Enne-ma. :D
Type 1 Perfectionism |||||||||||| 46%
Type 2 Helpfulness |||||||||||||| 53%
Type 3 Image Awareness |||||||||||||||| 63%
Type 4 Sensitivity |||||||||||| 43%
Type 5 Detachment |||||||||||||| 56%
Type 6 Anxiety |||||||||||||||| 70%
Type 7 Adventurousness |||||||||| 36%
Type 8 Aggressiveness |||||||||||||| 53%
Type 9 Calmness |||||||||||||||||| 80%

My behavior/motivation (which seem to be based on the three highest percentages of the above scale:

Type Score Description
9 24 I must be peaceful and easy to get along with to be happy.
6 21 I must be secure and safe to be happy.
3 19 I must be impressive and attractive to be happy.

On a conscious level, I am a 9w8. Combining an easy going nature with a steady strength. 9w8's can be highly productive and make good leaders IF they stay focused. Lust and comfort can lead them off track into aimlessness. Bad temper and stubborness are issues.

On my subconscious, I am an OMNI: Attracted to the counterculture, and not easy to understand. I am not immune to paranoia, and don't trust people very easily. I want success to just happen for me. I need to focus on figuring out what I want in life and start pursuing it.

hmmm...interesting, somewhat accurate.

Famous ISTPs:
Interesting...I seem to have similarities with some of Hollywood's most famous "tough guys". :D Go ahead, make my day!
Charles Bronson
Tom Cruise
James Dean
Clint Eastwood
U.S. Presidents:

* Zachary Taylor

Burt Reynolds
Keith Richards - does this mean I am doomed to look like a walking skeleton while performing Rock and Roll until my dying days? :D
Charlie Yeager
Frank Zappa - never thought I had anything in common with this guy, save for my love of music.

Fictional:
Hedda Gabler in Ibsen's play of the same name
John Miller in the movie American Grafitti
Archibald "Harry" Tuttle in the movie Brazil

Well, there ya have it: Martok in a nutshell. (Martok is a nutshell...and the nut!) :D

Submitted for your approval, or derision,
Martok the Mentally Scanned.

More of a historical account. I first took the test about five years ago. I never really pegged myeslf as an "introvert", but I'm generally happiest when left to my own devices. Basically, the main difference was the I/E divide.

Darth Marley September 29th, 2004 04:51 AM

I have found that the test results can changed based on what medications I am on.

julix September 29th, 2004 05:34 AM

Thank you Martok....... :D
Told you it would be interesting, and Rowan is right it can change throughout your life slightly. It can also be a little off, like you said about performer cause we are lead down certain paths in life. It sounds like it had some things you thought were close...

Mentally scanned :LOL: :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

cranky1c September 29th, 2004 05:52 AM

Because of the variability of these things, I've taken it a couple of times over the past few days, and will take it a few more times before I'm satisfied that it's reflective.

jewels September 29th, 2004 07:12 AM

I last took this years ago but I was I N or S F J back then. Perfectly split on intuitive and sensing. Good way to drive bosses that only work in sensing mode completely nuts: you go down through a project in typical sensing a, b, c, d, e order then jump to this conclusion that the senser won't even get to until about step h, i or j in their thought process. Drives them nuts!

BRG September 29th, 2004 07:37 AM

BRG is a ISFJ .

Introverted 89.66% Extroverted 10.34%
Sensing 55.88% Intuitive 44.12%
Felling 52.63% Thinking 47.37%
Judging 52.78% Perciving 47.22%

I am a "Conservator".(?)
Famous ISFJ include the Queen, Tennyson, and Watson from Sherlock Holmes! And my ex presedent is Taft!

So, I'm in the same catagory as Wee Liz, our noble Queen who has had her fat arse on the Throne since before my old man was born, and William Howard Taft, a fat git who's claim to fame is that he was the first fat git to be elected president! There is no hope for poor BRG. :( :D

LOL! Hey, Plaid, wanna trade, since, by profession, I am a performer and not an engineer, as my ISTP would designate? :D

Well cranky? what's your conclusion? :D

nextceo February 24th, 2005 05:28 AM

Entp.... Definitely Me! Hey read all about me... LOL ;)

"Clever" is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best. The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in his mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject is a classic example of the type. So is the stand-up comedian whose lampoons are not only funny, but incisively accurate.

ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their often-impressive skills. They tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. They sometimes confuse, even inadvertently hurt, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport.

ENTPs are as innovative and ingenious at problem-solving as they are at verbal gymnastics; on occasion, however, they manage to outsmart themselves. This can take the form of getting found out at "sharp practice"--ENTPs have been known to cut corners without regard to the rules if it's expedient -- or simply in the collapse of an over-ambitious juggling act. Both at work and at home, ENTPs are very fond of "toys"--physical or intellectual, the more sophisticated the better. They tend to tire of these quickly, however, and move on to new ones.

ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they tend to become extremely petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they tend to regard as challenges, and tackle with determin- ation.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. However, they do tend to be extremely genial, if not charming, when not being harassed by life in general.

In terms of their relationships with others, ENTPs are capable of bonding very closely and, initially, suddenly, with their loved ones. Some appear to be deceptively offhand with their nearest and dearest; others are so demonstrative that they succeed in shocking co-workers who've only seen their professional side. ENTPs are also good at acquiring friends who are as clever and entertaining as they are. Aside from those two areas, ENTPs tend to be oblivious of the rest of humanity, except as an audience -- good, bad, or potential.

Some Famous ENTPs:

Alexander the Great
Confederate General J. E. B. Stuart
Sir Walter Raleigh

Fictional:
Mercutio, from Romeo and Juliet
Horace Rumpole, from John Mortimer's Rumpole of the Bailey series
Dorothy L. Sayers's detective Lord Peter Wimsey

A Few More Famous ENTPs

U.S. Presidents:

* John Adams, 2nd US president. [Adams appears to have been competing with Thomas Jefferson to see who would live the longest. ("Jefferson surv...")]
* James A. Garfield (who could reportedly write Latin with one hand and Greek with the other, simultaneously)
* Rutherford B. Hayes
* Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt

Thomas Edison
Lewis Carrol (Alice in Wonderland)
Julia Child
Suzanne Pleshette
George Carlin
Valerie Harper
John Candy
John Sununu
Weird Al Yankovick

Tom Hanks

Fictional Characters:
"Q" (Star Trek--The Next Generation)
Shirley Feeney (Laverne and Shirley)
Bugs Bunny
Wile E. Coyote
Jon Davis's Garfield

Alaric February 24th, 2005 09:14 AM

ENTJ

"Field Marshall". The basic driving force and need is to lead. Tend to seek a position of responsibility and enjoys being an executive. 1.8% of total population.
