I noticed the Iraqi team managed to survive alot of obstacles and beat a medal contender, Portugal, in soccer.
:D

I was watching some of the opening ceremonies and one of the broadcasters (Tom Brokaw ??) mentioned that an Australian plane airlifted the athletes out of Iraq, under secrecy, due to the violence taking place in Iraq. Talk about international cooperation!!

i was disappointed in the men's basketball game. They should play their warm up team a little more. They have good talent that they are not using like former UConn player Emeka Okafor! glad to see that the US whipped the Aussie's in men's beach volleyball.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing!

It was so bad for me to sit and watch at half time I got up and went to start dinner and do some other things. It made me sick!

blood doping had not heard of this till now I guess I haven't been paying attention!

Actually blood doping has been around for awhile I first heard of it when
a athelete from Siberia was stripped of his medals a few years back.

Everyone thought he was on drugs but they couldn't prove it until
just a few years ago.

its so sad when atheletes have to resort to this kind of thing to be competetive

They think it's the easy road ................UNTIL they get caught. :no:

Heard yesterday on the evening news that Athens had some tremors. it wasn't that bad and nothing was damaged!

as it stands right now the US has 73 total medals.

One of the female gymnasts is from Connecticut!
