DIRK's STARBUCK is a LEGEND

I don't know if this has been posted but it's worth doing again -

The new issue of TV Guide has a list of the 25 GREATEST SCI-FI LEGENDS. On that list is our very own Starbuck as played by Dirk Benedict.

==============================
TV's answer to Han Solo, Lieutenant Starbuck mixed battle and romance in true swashbuckler style. About the only thing he didn't have was a Wookiee, but a never-wanna-grow-up performance by actor Dirk Benedict even made up for that. In SciFi Channel's updated Galactica, Starbuck has been recast as a female. "Why change it?' asks Benedict. "People still love my character's politically incorrect ways."

Hey Ojai! Nice to see ya posting. :D

Thank you for posting that bit from the article. There is a thread here that has some more info for ya. That greatest list seems to be very haphazard in how they chose its list.

:D

I hope it was just for tv only, cause like I noted in the other thread... I didn't see Luke Skywalker on that list.

Ditto on Dirk's Starbuck being a legend!

I actually managed to get my paws on an issue. It had a photo of Dirk. It also stated in Dirk's own words, "Why reimagine a character that audiences loved?"

Didto Braxxis
On the outside many saw him as a woman chasing, card shark. He was more ..much more... We all know he would be the one to jump in and save the entire fleet if he had to and the true Starbuck that was hidden behiend his immage really had a heart and soul!

Great find Ojai!

Finally, Starbuck got his due,

Cant forget the wit and humor. That Dirk put in the role I Cant wait for this Legend to return! So he didnt have a wookiee but he had a Daggit!

repcisg August 1st, 2004 10:38 PM

Dirk doen't need a wookie or dagit, he is the one and only Starbuck!

CommanderTaggart August 2nd, 2004 07:05 AM

Some might say he's a "Living Legend." ;)

kingfish August 2nd, 2004 08:06 AM
