First BSG Promo Airs on Sci-Fi

Well, the first BSG promo aired tonight during SG-1 on Sci-Fi.
It was great. They showed a montage of new scenes (Six is even more sexy than in the mini!) with dialogue being delivered by each of the major characters.
The promo ended with the statements:
The world is over!
The fighting is just beginning!
NEAT-O!

Jim -

I caught it too....they showed it once for each hour - unless I missed one! Six looks like she was indulging in the new Cylon tradition of "nude hot tubbing" - what's up with that? Other than one or two scenes, it was mostly footage from the mini. The January release date looks kind of firm now....

There were also promos for "Earthsea" & the "Farscape" miniseries/TV movie as well.

I saw it. The mood was dark, serious, and glum. One of the characters intones that the "enemy is relentless and won't rest until we are dead" or something to that effect, then they show a super hot model stepping from a hot tub. Geez, I wish I had enemies like that. Did anybody else find that scene jarring and somewhat humorous?

Sure I did dah66.
But that's the point of the new series.
The Cylons are like us, and some like Six use her sex to achieve her ends.
I hope the dark humor is maintained as if it is completely serious, it might not work on a week-to-week basis.
I did read something in the NEWS section on galactica2003 a while back that humor will become integral to the storylines.
So keep that hot tub running. You never know when Number Six will arrive (and I don't mean The Prisoner- yuck!).

Yeah, I understand the intention and direction of the new show. I just don't think they were going for humor, dark or otherwise in that ad. Most likely, some studio executive saw the hot tub footage and said "You must, must put that in the promo!"

Where was Tyrol? The only decent character and we didn't see him.

Is there a link anywhere to an online version of the trailer?

don't even watch Sci fi anymore as they have nothing good to offer for me to watch

For me, Sci-Fi & USA have been a godsend.
SG-1 knocked my socks off the other night with the eighth season premiere.
I can't wait to see the spin-off Atlantis.
And with the Farscape movie and BSG in the wings, I am a happy sci-fi camper.
Plus USA did an outstanding job with the 4400 pilot movie.
If you remember, 10 years ago Sci-Fi was doing nothing but showing repeats of classic shows & editing them to shreds. Even parts of TOS of BSG got cut!
Sci-Fi has come a long way.
And while its shows might not suit everyone's tastes- yes, even the reimaged version of Galactica-, it definitely has (and is) the only channel out there offering the most sci-fi programming this year.

P.S. And I think once BSG establishes itself in its first season, we are going to see continuations of story lines from TOS in the second & third seasons. I can hardly wait!
