TOS 12" Figures coming in October....

Hey everyone -

This will make those that always wanted decent 12" figures (not like those crappy Mattel ones....) from our favorite show very happy campers:

Quote:

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA IS BACK, with a new TV series on the Sci-Fi Channel later this year; and Majestic Studios is back with 12" collectible figures from the original classic Battlestar Galactica TV show from the 70?s.

All your favorites will be here: Richard Hatch as Capt. Apollo, Dirk Benedict as Lt. Starbuck, Lorne Greene as Commander Adama and more to follow. The villainous Cylons will be represented by the famous chrome robot and the equally evil gold robot.

Look for Battlestar Galactica figures in your local collectibles stores mid-October 2004.
I think that this is great news considering that this new piece of merchandise is based on the Original Series - we have another way of showing our loyalty to to the show that inspired us so. I think that these will sell nearly as well as the DVD set did!

Best to all,
Bryan

This is amazing...and original.

I remember back in '79 when they made 12 inch figures, they only made two...a Cylon Centurian and a character called "Colonial Warrior," whose likeness wasn't even close to any character on the show. Heck, the costume and weapon weren't even close either.

This is cool. Starbuck, Apollo and Adama! Nice!

This is very good news, I hope everyone buys a set of these. :)

Peter :)

Like I could resist such a thing...!

And how incredibly cool that they're based on the original series. :)

Yeah, I had the Cylon. It had a glowing gun, chestplate, and the eye lit up and you could move it back and forth. I always wanted an accurate one...and now we'll get our chance!

Awwwwww...don't you want a Number Six with the glowing spine and "action features" from the miniseries? ;) Recommended for ages 17 and up.

(Just kidding)

Hi all,

Don't know if you all have read this but a friend just sent me this link ... apparently there's gonna be a 7" figure range too from JoyRide Studios :D

Wave 1 is going to be a Colonial Warrior (Starbuck - most likely), a Cylon Centurian and a spce ship (Colonial viper? - fingers crossed).

Anyway ... here's the link which includes pics ...

:salute:

I wasn't too impressed with the prototype Starbuck, but hopefully the final figures will be better. I've seen some of Joyride's Mechwarrior and Halo figures and they're okay. The only problem with Joyride Studios is that their release and distribution schedule sucks...bad.

I'd expect the BSG figures to feature similar articulation to the Halo line:

I'd have to say that I'm more interested in the starships at this point (Viper, Raider, etc.)

David Kerin February 24th, 2004 09:07 AM

The face of "Face" might not be right on, but the uniform, blaster, helmet... all the details are pretty damn close. If they work on the likeness it will be great. Either way, I think I'm getting that line.

It says they aren't picturing the raider or viper (proportions look off on the one behind Starbuck.) but if you go to the page above, look above Starbuck's head. Raider. ;)

You mean they dropped the plans for the blow-up doll?

(if you think there ever were plans for such an item....have you ever been snipe hunting?)

Bryan thank you for posting that! I can't wait to see
if they'll live up to their promise! I hope they will. :halo:

If they're not too expensive Amberstar I'll be cleaning off some space on my bookshelf too.

I finally got one....!

Okay folks -

Here's my latest "geek fest" item....

I've been searching high and low locally and came up empty, I've been bidding on eBay for weeks trying to get one, but now I've got one!

I got the 12" Majestic Studios Apollo figure!

This is so cool! The box is so big and has lots of cool pics of Richard (new and old). The detailing on the props and costume is really so worth it for someone that is collecting the new BSG stuff that's been coming out over the past year. I thought that I was impressed with the Joyride figures, but this is really something else!

I have a friend that collects 12" figures - he's got a whole room full of them (I'm not kidding). When I showed him the pre-release notices, he was really impressed. I can't wait to show this to him. He's a big fan of the original show and this series of figures from Majestic is just what every fan and collector would want in their collection.

OOoooooooo! This is one of those times I really wish I had a digital camera!

Best to all,
Bryan

Here's a link to find the 12" Apollo for the best price I have ever seen online.

http://www.toytokyo.com/shopping/ind...roduct_id/5054

Tower Records as well as Toytokyo have the exclusive Gold Cylon for $29.99 as well although I think Tower Records has only a $6.00 shipping charge...

KamikazeAthena October 28th, 2005 03:53 PM

JUST got Starbuck and Adama! Very cool. You can tell it is Starbuck, but you can't really tell it is Dirk. The craftmanship is really good though!

jewels October 29th, 2005 06:38 AM

Wicked collectables (how I hate that name) has all 4 of the figures in stock now and will sell the centurion, Adama, Starbuck and Apollo as a 4 pack for $139ish, shippings flat rate $5.99. http://www.wickedcollectibles.com/pr...ajesticStudios

Charybdis October 29th, 2005 09:18 AM

Sorry to post this but the Toytokyo site that i provided the link to has now sold out of the Apollo dolls at $24.99. shucks!!!

Oh well, I at least made up for it by ordering my Gold cylong limited edition...
