Well Charybdis, I was going to go over there shortly... but I had to stop in since I got so many emails from this crazy and wild bunch here. Plus some of them were at Dragoncon and heard first hand of my "accident." So I had many of them worried. (sorry gang... next year I am bringing my own personal paramdedic...from my starwars group. lol they assigned him to me... lol makes me wonder if they now think I am an accident prone... lmao!)

But its great to be home!!! Man I have missed this place!!!

All I remember that happened is that I was in the group gathering on Sunday in the lobby of the Marriott. It was the 501st/RebelLegion gathering for the annual star wars march to the bank steps for our official picture. (and I love doing it!) Well I just was delievered to the hands of the Rebels by my Garrison (due to the heat I opted to do the jedi costume instead of my royal guard uniform) and they went on to get in their groups. I was talking to another jedi and someone asked to take a picture of us "fighting" so I took a step backwards... (here is where its fuzzy) either I tripped over the lobby mud carpets (cuz it was raining that weekend) or someone bumped me and my left knee snapped. It was loud enough everyone heard it. I went down and put my hand where my knee was supposed to be and it was gone!!! It was later found to be on the left lower side of my leg. I was taken to the ER room where they had to sedate me to put it back in. I met some great people who have touched my life since then and have become a MAJOR part of my life because of it.

I have undergone major therapy, worn a full leg brace from the hip to the ankle and am still learning how to walk on my own again. Doing pretty good now days. But when it first happened I went into the worst case of depression I have ever fought. But my friends, my love, my family and my second family (the star garrison and star base) have helped me heal physically and mentally. My CO of the Star Base ( I am the XO) is a paramedic. He and his wife have helped me so much and have told me they are going to the con next year just in case. ;) lol But I am sorry I worried my friends here and I can't thank you all for they heartwarming encouraging emails yall sent me! Each helped me in ways you can't imagine!!!

So - that Dawg - is my story. Much is still fuzzy and I don't think I will ever know the truth but I can actually say I am ok with that.

seriously the mobility is getting better. Going thru 6 weeks of INTENSE physical therapy. It is really reminding me its there due to having therapy this morning and then going to a convention. (Wizards is premiering in TX!!! omg i am sooo excited!) And I seem to have picked up a side effect I don't remember signing up for (then again I don't remember signing up for this injury either... hhmmm) is that when the weather changes - I FEEL IT! and with winter on its way here... I am sooo going to be popping the Advil and using the heating pad. grrrr
When I walk - right now I do have a pretty noticable limp. Sometimes worse than others. But my favorite part of therapy is the 6 months of water aerobics to rebuild the muscles that were damaged.

Sorry to make your gut twist up when you read that. =( And I didn't mean to scare anyone with my "disappearance." But I am back with my friends! ;)

Kristi, Sweetie, that story is a heart-breaker. Too much pain. I've missed seeing your posts and so glad you're better. Not to worry about the limp, just keep plugging along and eventually it will disappear. And yes, you'll be able to predict the weather better that the weatherman!
