A Continuation Screenplay. Sort of.
Although a lot of close-minded people insist otherwise, I know it's possible to bridge the gap between TOS and a continuation movie. The trick would be to tell the beginning of the story from the point of view of someone we can all associate with, like an Earthling in space. If peoples' memories of the original series are hazy, we want to ease them into the Galactica universe...and I think the following way works, as would a lot of others.
This is just to make it clear how easy it would be to bring the ignorant modern viewer into a story begun twenty-five years ago. The following screenplay is Act One of what would be an eight-act TV movie. Theoretically, it would be the last two-hours of the original show, even if it was just a straight to DVD movie. The point is it would be some sort of closure. So far, I wrote the first fifteen minutes or so, right up to the first commercial break. The website screwed up some of the tabs, but it's too much of a hassle to get them straight. http://www.geocities.com/rgame3/screenplay.html |
Superb piece of writing!
RGRANT:
I read your work and I think its superb. I've pitched to agents, producers and studios and your writing is without a doubt quality work that would garner their attention and get you a job (if you're not already a pro writer!) I wish I WROTE THIS! If you do intend to continue writing, then by all means GO FOR IT! show the Sci-fi channel and their cronies what REAL WRITING is all about. I look forward to your next act. In fact, write it up and maybe Glen Larsen will read it! Richard Rivera |
Ray,
Keep going. Excellent. Excellent. Nothing but excellent. Something Moore lacked the imagination to do. |
VERRRRRRRRRRRRY Nice Grant!
|
Thanks for the words of encouragement, guys. I was just wondering why I constantly used the word screenplay. I even titled the web page screenplay. I don't think anyone uses that word anymore. It's a script.
|
WELL??? Can we expect more from you??
Ray:
Tv scripts are Teleplays and movies scripts are screenplays. The generic word script is used to decribe anything written for the visual medium. By the way, WILL YOU continue with this work? Please let us know. I would definately look forward to reading more. Nay, you MUST keep writing! Rich:thumbsup: |
Excellent reading Grant!! I do hope you continue, and will share it with us.
Many thanks, Amberstar  |
Me TOO Rgrant!
|
Just wondering
Have you had time to write any more?? I do hope you continue, you have talent!!!!!!!!

Hey RGrant,
We're holding our breaths waiting for the next excellent installment! And some of us are beginning to turn some deep shades of blue! Thanks for the work so far. Lucian |
Great Job Ray and that's what happens when someone who likes the show, decides to write a script.
OWD |
I've tried to find the file again, but can't.
It was a very well written story. I hope R Grant will continue to write more . I'd love to know what happens next:D |
Wow, I'm surprised to see this thread back again. I erased the file a few weeks ago, thinking it was old news, but I'll put it back up again for a while if anyone wants to look at it. I'm glad some people like it. It makes me feel like it wasn't a total waste of time anyway.
I got brain freeze around page 100, but if anyone wants to take it from there, we can split the money when DeSanto films it. http://www.geocities.com/rgame3/bgscript.html |
I'm glad you're putting it back up Ray, I always couldn't wait to read the next installment. I hope one day your brain unfreezes and you're able to finish it.

WOW!
Beats RDM's version to pieces!
Carolyn |
Ray, did you alter your Avatar in any way? I mean no disrespect to Katee but her picture in your avatar looks altered.
OWD |
Nope, it's a hundred percent her.
|
I hope your brain defrosts:D
I just read your work again and you have an amazing talent! Amberstar |
