Female Starbuck now appears in the latest issue of SFX magazine
It's there finally. Comparsions are made picture by picture and continuous talks of the filming beginning soon and such you know the usual blab blab blab article stuff is in there. And as usual a very small space in the mag but is there.
Anyone gonna shock us by scan it in. Don't even think of me? NO SIR it just ain't right. Not for you to buy the magazine to see one little article but you must see this for yourselves and reveal the No 1 reason why me, you, and other fans the world over really want common sense to get through to "The Powers That Be" that this ain't the way to go. One simple answer GET THE MAGAZINE SEE for yourself why that this production going down like this, won't win our respect or loyal fans the world over! I don't blame the actress personally nor see this as her doing. But the decision to go ahead with the actual Remake now in pre-production as in "living colour" before your eyes. After seeing the picture of the actress cast in the Starbuck role, it hits home, alot more than the simple discussions fans have been having lately. KJ Still lets remember it ain't over yet, and with what ever hope remains. The "Fat Lady" ain't even dressed to sing, so lets not put the silver fork in yet either. Maybe news will still come to change things around. |
Don't forget, in Hollywood, the more you reveal, the less it's worth.
What do I mean? Think of a big blockbuster guaranteed-to-be-loved project. What kind of promotion did they have before the fact? Practically none. You can just go with a title and "go see it". No details, no plot, nothign is really revealed. This production is revealing way too much- almost like they're trying to "pre-create" it. If they make people believe it exists, maybe it will. Nothing they have done, from the stealth fan tactics, the bogus polls, the arrogant statements- seems to suggest confidence. It looks more like the old "fake it 'til you make it" attitude. |
I hope Michael's recent silence
Is an indication of change for the better.
As far as that aledged e-mail from David Ecch, it could have been spoofed. And if it wasn't, very professionally written don't you think? I hope both of their careers take a major step back after this. It would be nice if the tactics employed by the RDM regime are leaked to the media. |
3H like Titon says have faith, time is fast approaching

I would be willing to give Moore's script a chanch if he hadn't changed Starbuck's and Boomer's gender. He could have hired the actress in question to play Athena or introduce a new character named Kara. But Noooo..... Moore knows better than the fans what we want.

True Micheleh. Movies like 1998 Godzilla or Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes spring to mind.

Frack
I even signed the petition to save Starbuck's "boys."

Sounds like another SFX filler article (Dreamwatch is even more guilty of this), repeating news that everyone know already.
These articles are usually accompanied by shots from Richard's trailer. :) Peter |

1) and they get SuShann's (sp?) permission to use those? 2) doesn't it speak volumes that when the Sci-fi press needs BSG art they reach out to a promo trailer done by an original series actor and a horde of volunteering professionals (and some fans)? Are they going out of their way to note that the solution already exists to bring back Galactica?* (*and I consider the DeSanto production in this vein also: he had his gag order on images though, so the scifi mags can't acquire images there.) Jewels |
No Peter. Dreamwatch at least talks about BG openly unlike the other U.K. magazines which blank it and only post news on it, when average news of Galactica comes by.
Jewels is right although i've pointed it out magazines like to make crappy jokes about older TV stars and what they did or shows the've done. In Richard Hatch's case. They would use his work to advertise the Remake of BG. What a disgusting way to sell somebody else's hard work. KJ |

On a personal note, I find it darkly humorous that "The Second Coming" is still representing the return of Galactica. (For various fans, it still does: It represents something which many of the fans would prefer to see over this remake initiative.) Michael :colwar: |
Synthesized Music
I heard that the show will use this type of music compared to the grand work of Stu Phillips. Phillips' CD was well worth the money. Galactica sounded awesome.
|
Thats is because kingfish
Composition music composed and brought to life along with a huge Orchestra is still the benchmark for music in films and television general. Digital technology just makes things sound more crisp and clearer.
Synthesized music ain't my cup of tea but, different music works in different productions, depending on what kind of theme or backround it plays against. I hope any new Battlestar Galactica production uses Orchestrated music for the epic feel of a saga presented once again. KJ |

Having bought the magazine, I don't think the photographer caught her best side.

Peter
He could have if he had left the Lens Cap on...
...DOH! >:) |
But seriously though
Can't you just picture her, running in her sports bra, the theme from Baywatch playing, as she bounces in slow motion up the new Submarine Like Hallways of the new Submarine like Galactica. Running past Lee, who is sitting in a corner, biting his nails in angst over the death of his brother, that was caused by that Miserable Schmuck, his Father. Think of Lee's angst, as he realizes he looks like the Family Gardener, or the Post man, and NOTHING like his Father.
Hey speaking of her bouncing in her sports bra, do you think they'll do that in this "new" Moore-Film-Technique, Split Screens? |

One boob per screen. You'd think you were watching a political debate. |
Geez, and I thought we were the camp looking for the good acting skills (yes, I've heard that part questioned too) and not the "eye candy". ;)
