Colonial Technology Revisited

Just a general question or two about the level of Colonial Technology:

1) What technological enhancements should be part of the Galactica Universe, when the series is Continued? (Emphasis on "when").

2) What level of technology should be part of the Galactica Universe, if the current venture goes the route of a Prequel?
This is based on Adama's assertion that the original settlers of the Colonies, after fleeing Kobol and settling the 12 colonies, destroyed their technology. (I'm not including the 13th tribe since they truly went a different course than the others).

Were the Kobollians more advanced at the time of the exodus, than the current Colonies prior to the Cylon massacre?
Were they at roughly the same level of technology?
Were they not as advanced, simply having interstellar flight and rudimentary defense capabilities?

I realize that this subject, undoubtedly, has been covered before. Just thought the Tech Wish List might need to be updated.

Excellent post. I see this as a timeline?

First Age

Thousands upon thousands of years of development of mankind on Kobal. Soon wars and feudal campaigns by Warlords and Kings and Queens breaks out. Centuries of fighting and destruction tear the world apart. Year later after centuries of rebuliding the planet falls into a void of darkness and soon the planet starts to die. The exodus of the 12 tribes that left Kobal begins. The 13th departs after they leave. The voyage through the black void, the finding of Planets on the outer rim (According to the novels of the pilot the 12 tribes found other planets before finding the 12 colonies that would become the colonies of man.)

Second age

Discovery of the colonies of man destructionof their intersteller tecnology. knowledge of these machines use lost over time (*see "Lost Planet of the Gods") At some time one by one each colony re-discovers each other! During this time the 13th tribe arrives on Earth, The Reptillain Cylons are at their peak of conquest and rule huge amounts of space!

Third age

Technological breakthrough age begins, space flight interplanetary at first then commerical travel begins. Those that wish to explore outer regions in space leave the 12 worlds (*see Magnifcent Warriors) Cylon at time experiment with machines to carry out warfare and are later visited by Count iblis.

Fourth age

The Great war begins, after helping the Hassaris defend their planet from invaders that attacked out of nowhere humanity is at war with the Cylon Empire! during this time technology improves faster due to warfare needs, space travel, weapons, vessels, medical technology etc. Kobal rediscover by Space Pirates during the war.
500 years in the colonies develop Battlestars and the intersteller travels begins anew. Contact with the asteroid Proteus is lost (*see The Long Patrol)

Considering what kind of technology they would develop during that time. From early days on Kobal to the war with the Cylons? any

Intersteller travel involves Ships surfing through space by opening hole in normal space!

*Hyperdrives? Warpfields? Jump points?

All used to breaking into space or manipulate space to fold or stretch, then zip through and close behind them.

Vipers and Raiders fighter in normal space that require fuel, lots of it!

All of these relate to power sources needed to do all this

Nuclear power, Anti-Matter, Cold fusion, Quantum energy fields, Pulsar or unidentifed radioactive materials or source of fuels needed to power whatever colonial do-hicky.

I brought up the timeline so we know the roughly the eras inwhich things happened and how long the gaps between each event in the series history (with twists of my own)

Any of those innovation could have happened in those eras. and ask yourselves how many terms or names of power sources or inventions have turned up in sci-fi which would be benefical to technology used in BG as BST has pointed out.

We got so far

Nuclear power

Anti-Matter,

Cold fusion,

Quantum energy fields,

Pulsars

Any original ones out there no ones used or done on TV/movies?
