A variant pic of my classic Constitution class Enterprise

Howdy, folks,

I have been told by some folks that my classic Constitution class Enterprise (which I built in Blender, and assembled and textured in iClone...my modus operandi for all my models) actually looks like it came from the 1973 animated Star Trek.

Well, for gits and shiggles, I decided to apply a toon effect to it, and this was the result:

Not bad. However, it does need the three sensor emitters, at the front of the primary hull.
Keep it up.

I thought those were windows...:?:

Nope. Closely lookest thou. They are round, and protrude somewhat. All the windows are flush with the hull.

Senmut is correct. I am missing the three circular elements at the front of the saucer rim. :)

For decades I've been wrong....:wtf:

LOL! Well, Apolloisall, no worries. It's a detail that can be easily overlooked, as I clearly forgot about it too. :)

But, in my case, it's something that is easily rectified. I'll do it when I get around to it. :)

Nice work Steve. :)

Yeah the 3 circles have been considered since the oldest blueprints appeared on the scene to be Sensors and a Defector.. makes sense for the Miranda-class from Star Trek 2.... its assumed they where in service during the TOS TV era

Yeah, I'm going to make that correction soon. :)
Also, Ger, I don't know if you've ever played or seen the video game "Star Trek Legacy", but in that game, they do have a Miranda class as it would've likely been seen in the Original Series. :)

No never had that game....... only Bridge Commander.... but makes sense to have defectors and sensors on the primary hull too..... some people like to think of them as windows...... which is also ok...but I favor the deflector/ sensor combo

I'm trying to remember, but I think in the TOS rendition of the Miranda class as seen in Legacy, the deflector dish hung below the primary saucer section, kinda like the Saladin class scout and destroyer.

Ah yes.. I remember (I think it was) Franz Joseph Technical Manual I first saw it... called simply a Scout / Destroyer

Added the three sensor emitters. Kept it basic, as I don't think there's any real canonical basis of detail. :)

Cool....... My own experience building the ship in Lightwave and I remember been very critical of each area.....

still an ICON no matter what program builds it.

I do know one designer who tried to explain the 3 forward circles as windows for a lounge..... by David Shaw his particular area of interest was the original three foot (33 inch) model of the USS Enterprise constructed by Richard Datin back in November of 1964. sometimes seen in the hands of William Shatner and made a study of it for years.... and has done a stunning job of it and an alternative view,

I cannot find his work for the 3 circles, (Edited I did find it)

but here is his work on the three foot
