Looking for 3d models

New to the site, not new to BSG (the real one, not the relentlessly negative, oversexed farce that's on now). Looking for places to download both complete 3d models and "the bits" (so to speak).

Thanks!

Harshmage July 25th, 2006 03:29 PM

In attempt to get my five posts in, I'm just gonna say that from what I've seen, the models here are kick-ass, and worth the five post rule.
And I will not (NOT) be like some people and post in the same topic till I rack up 5 posts. It's bad, and essentially goes against the whole purpose of a forum. If you need help with how to post, see the short film, Posting and You!

Warrior has posted a thread about this in the forums, but basically you need to delete any cookies that refer to this place, I had the same problems myself, I also found it worked easier using Firefox instead of IE.

Oh, I haven't run into any problems, save that I think it's bad form to jump in on a thread and say something I have no inkling about. So, I'm going to only post when it's proper to do so. Like now, as you replied to me.
And no worries about browsers either. Firefox is pretty much the only thing I use, with the IE-Tab extention. Opera when I feel like being wild...

The reply wasn't to you Harshmage, it was to the people asking why they couldn't download after 5 posts.

billy-home July 28th, 2006 02:08 PM

Obviously my last comment did not deserve a reply Harshmage, a shame, I will admit I had not read your post when I added mine, my apologies, but if you look at my amount of posts you'll see I do not need to jump in on a thread, in fact if you check most of my posts are quite revelent to the thread in question, the main ones being about the Lightwave models available and the TOS Cylon Centurion which I'm building for the use of all members of this community, the same as my Poser conversion of wjaspers new series one, the amount of time spent on the Cylon model is actually not worth the effort in revenue lost in commercial work I should be doing, but since I, like the rest of the folk here, am a huge fan of BSG, and in my case especially the TOS design of the Cylon, it's worth the effort...and this is not flaming you, or that there's any hard feelings on my part, (in fact you could have legitimately got your 5 posts by replying, lol), it was just the tone of your reply that upset me when I first read it, as mine may have done to you.

Cheers

Billy

I havent reached that five post limit yet but I was checking out some of the models here. They look really great can wait to check them out. I do have a question do they come in 3d max? I noticed that some of them say they were converted to lightwave can they be converted back? I have 3d max.

Behonest I really want to find some quality models to convert to xfiles so I can import them into Galactic Civ II a really fun turn based space "Civ" like game. I already got a boat load of Star Wars models but I really love BSG and would love to create an mod for them as well.

As far as I know any of the models Warrior has converted to LW from MAX are usually still available here in their original MAX format, wil jaspers models & David's definately are so once you reach your 5 post limit you should be in for a treat, I'll have to go and check out that game myself, it sounds interesting.

Cheers

You want to know the truth? I just now got a topic reply notification! I'd have come back to say more, if I had known. :(
Could have been my change in hosting provider a while back. Weirdness abounds.

Tell me about it, LOL, my telephone area has just been upgraded to accept 8mb broadband, and for about 2 weeks I could hardly get online at all, and when I finally did I ended up with about 900 emails  which took me about another week to go through

I am looking forward to it. I am just happy that this place has both the original and new series models. Also you should check the game out. Its really easy to mod, ie customize and is as addictive as crack, but in a good way. ;)

I am looking for a Cylon mesh for Orbiter. It can be 3ds or something I can convert using anim8or.

Thanks

gattispilot

I have a lot of meshes but I have never heard of this one.
Most are Truspace and some MAX. I think there are some LW floating around.

Please feel free to use anything you wish if the formats will work
