Has anyone modelled a Ship of Lights?

Has anyone modelled a Ship of Lights? If so, I'd like to see it.

Cheers,

Peter

Yes someone did. David Moss put together one.

Check out this link. On his site there is a small animation containing the ship.

Dave Kerin, too. It's available for download at BattlestarPegasus.com

Thanks Titon. Didn't download the movie but saw the pic of David Moss's Lightship. Nice!

Couldn't get to BattlestarPegasus.com, is the site down?

Cheers,

Peter

My web hosting service "is undergoing major upgrades. we will ensure minimal downtime and disruption."

Um, yeah.... right. My web sites are still off-line. I've logged my Help Desk ticket with them; hopefully we'll see a resolution shortly.

At least the web hosting contract is up for renewal in less than a month. If this issue continues, it may be time for another (more responsive) web host.

Thanks again for mentioning the site access problem, Peter.

Michael, if you have to change hosts that'll be for the second time won't it?

Regards,

Peter

Michael,

If you need a temp place to park your sites I can loan you space on a site I started to setup, I've done didlysquat with since I got it. Never go past some initial concepts, so it's really empty at the moment.

Your welcome to the space if you need it.

Peter: Fourth. I like to rotate. ;) And I refuse to host on Windows-based servers. (One host decided to switch on me. It showed, too.)

It's UNIX/Linux all the way, baby. Secure, safe and reliable... assuming the admins know that they're doing.

Robert (repcisg): Only if you have about 600-700 megabytes available... ;) And lots of bandwidth.

Michael,

Hum, I only have 200 megs, probably not enough, but if you need a place just for a temp redirect with a few messages perhaps there's enough there.

Robert - let's talk again in mid-2003. There's a strong likelihood that I may call upon that space for hosting some special projects which the public can access/download. :) The more mirror sites, the merrier.

just out of curiosity, how much bandwidth does a site like yours use up?

I think my own site probably takes up maybe a meg a month. LOL :)

Hey Michael, you got it!

Depends on which one we're talking about and what the news/information of the day is. I've seen over 10,000 unique visitors hit the BattlestarGalactica.com site on various days and tax the bandwidth. Since it caps around 60 megabytes/hour on average, you get a sense of my bandwidth.

BattlestarPegasus.com doesn't get the same traffic, particularly since I don't upkeep it regularly like BattlestarGalactica.com. It has been a very static site, although I do a lot of additions here and there which most people wouldn't notice. But I've seen some hefty bandwidth bites, mainly due to the CG meshes I offer for free download. ;)

The others see sizeable traffic, too. It's really a matter of what's going on. Breaking news tends to chew up my bandwidth quickly.

Total coolness. That also means you'll be privvy to seeing "the projects" before they go live. (If they get done... I'm actively working on them, although I want to have them done/in-hand before I say anything further about actual release dates.)
