Radio IFB Podcast

From Commander Taggart (Bill Gordon):

Quote:

Whelpers, I went ahead and did it. The very first 30-minute podcast of Radio IFB is available for download here:

http://www.cylon.org/audio/IFB_1.mp3

Right click on the link to download it, or just click on the link to load it in your browser.

I had to compress the hell out of it to get it down to 14 megs, so... there's more background "hiss" then I would have liked... but if anyone actually listens to it and wants a higher-resolution copy, I can make a full stereo mp3 and try find a way to make it available via BitTorrent.

The first podcast of Radio IFB features:

1. An update on the Direct-To-DVD campaign
2. Jack "Bojay" Stauffer on BSG, The Second Coming, and the DeSanto/Fox series
3. An audio treat from our own OWD and Short Notice

Hope you like it... if you do, tell a friend; if you don't, shut the hell up. Wink

Enjoy!

Awesome :)

Gemini1999 June 6th, 2005 07:42 PM

I liked it!

This was the first chance I've had to listen to the entire thing...

I think that Bill has a great "radio" voice and did a great job. The interview with Jack Stauffer was fun to listen to. I really loved Shawn's BSG music too!

I had one or two editorial comments, but I'll leave well enough alone.

Is there going to be more?

Best,
Bryan

CommanderTaggart June 14th, 2005 12:27 PM

Feel free to PM any suggestions, Bryan. I am, indeed, planning to do another one when I can... I'm just so insanely busy right now it isn't even funny... but, yes... there will be more.

Thanks for all the kind words!

(Insanely Busy) Boy that sounds familiar. Just when I think my plate is clean enough for me to start some Galactica projects, along comes another Insanely amount of work to fill it right back up again. :erk:

Just let me know if you compose anything new related to TOS, Shawn! I'd love to "introduce" it to fandom! ;)

oldwardaggit June 15th, 2005 12:00 PM

Thanks Bill. :salute:
I appreciate that and you will be the first to know. One of my projects that I was going to do years ago was a guitar version of my favorite sci fi themes but only got as far as the rock version of Galactica and Space 1999, my computer crashed and I lost the rock version of the Space 1999 theme that I did and it had a guitar solo I was quite happy with. oh well.

When ever I get the chance to do it again, it should sound better anyway because I've learned a thing or 2 in the last 5 years about recording, producing and mastering .

Or I would like to think I did.

BTW, Shawn, that was a nice piece of music at the end of the podcast. Well done, sir. :salute:

oldwardaggit June 15th, 2005 06:00 PM

Thanks Steve. I remember noticing way back then that the Cylon saying by your command, was in the same key as the theme so I thought, hey, this might be cool to make it sound like the cylon is singing to the song.

I remember being quite happy with that one simple thing. The lead guitar could have come up more in volume but I did the song years ago before I knew about a simple thing called panning. Next time it will be different with much more clarity. :)

Thanks again. :)

Edition Two can be downloaded here:

http://www.cylon.org/audio/IFB_2.mp3

In this edition of Radio IFB:

• All the News that's Fit to Spit: A Tongue-in-cheek review of recent SciFi news headlines
• Radio IFB's first panel discussion: TwoBrainedCylon, Bishop37, Dawg, and Commander Taggart talk Glen Larson and feature film
• Disco, Galactica style ('Cuz we're all stuck in the '70s)

NOTE: The panel discussion was recorded using Skype and WireTap Pro. Brilliant technology that I haven't quite mastered yet. I've evened the audio levels out as much as possible... but there is some overmodulation, digital noise, and breakup... particularly towards the end of the discussion. I'll do better next time. ;)

Enjoy!

RADIO IFB-- The hot new show everybody's talking about.

"Tag is real professional," says Julix BG of Colonial Fleets and Laurettespang.com

"Intelligent. Witty. Just all around fun," proclaims Martok2112 of CA, CF, and SOL.

And some shmuck in East Outer Bohemia exclaims: "Who in the hell is this Taggart character?!"

Radio IFB is a dream come true for BSG Traditionalists, indeed, for BSG fans everywhere!

If you haven't caught Radio IFB...you don't know what you're missing.

Radio IFB--premieres on Cylon Alliance...whenever it happens. :D

(How's that for a plug, Bill?) :D
Respectfully,
Martok2112

Woo Hoo. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oldwardaggit July 3rd, 2005 02:57 PM

Yet Another great show Bill. I look forward to hearing the next one. Don't worry about the Skype problems, Most of the sci fi shows that I listen too, use Skype and have the same problems but just like anything new, the bugs have to be worked out.

Hey, if you have an email that can hold an MP3, PM me with it and I'll send you some of the Galactica comedy stuff I did. I sent Darrell most of what I did too but he might not still have it.

Thanks again for the great show. :):):)

I forgot about you having some of the other things up besides the return of a hero. Cool.

The only other things I can think of right off the top of my head without looking, are some more comedy things like Battlestar Scraptica where the cast all get into a bar fight with each other and Cain ends up beating the hell out of everyone.

Another one was Disco-lactica where Cylons are farting to the tune of Staying alive by the Bee Gee's. That one still cracks me up.

And of course there is the long awaited audio of Rings of Bravis, Where we have a what if story about a mining colony that were off mining a distant star system when the cylon attack took place and we hear the log reports from the captain.

This was written by our very own Repcisg.

Besides that, I'm not quite sure what else I have.
Well, besides a Cylon singing Galactica to the tune of Oh Christmas tree .

Shawn... I think the mailbox for the address you have for me will hold up to 5 megs. If you've got files larger than that... maybe we can find some way to exchange the files via FTP?

Your Email will hold them no prob if I send them 1 at a time because I'm pretty sure each one is smaller then 5 megs cause they are in MP3 format. I'll start going through what I have sometime tomorrow after I get home from work.

Rock on.

Bill , It looks like I re-formated the computer since the last time I emailed you so I no longer have your email but if it's the same one at CFF, then I'll start sending but if not, then let me know or email me at RadioGalacticacontact@hotmail.com and I will use the return Email to send. Thanks
