need help, Bridge reference photos

I am doing a little work on My battlestar bridge model and have lost a lot of the reference images I used to have.
I've been searching for the last 2 days on the net for a couple of pictures that showed 2 kids visiting the original set, which looked to be under repair.
In fact I have found very few good bridge reference pictures.
I have some of the blueprints, but have noticed that the bridge does not conform to them exactly.
Tomorrow I'll probably do a bunch of frame captures from the DVD's, but old photo's would help a lot, by showing things from angles not seen on screen.

Any images or links appreciated.
Thanks
Marvin

It looks like a lot of pictures are unavailable now that some of the galactica websites have died. I used to try and save as many images as I could find. but I have lost those as well with my own hard drive crashes in the past.
Somewhere I even have some family pictures from the universal studio tour around 1979-1980. All taken with a nice cannon 35mm in great quality. A couple shots are me and my brother with a Cylon centurion and I believe Herb Jefferies in his Boomer costume. I was like 9 years old. I told my mom to get me the negatives a while back, hope she finds them.

But for the Bridge, right now it looks like screen caps are the best reference. the blueprints were usefull for the overall shape and dimensions, but thats about all. Other than the pilots console no real details like I am looking for.

Have you tried waybackmachine.org? It's the website archive, maybe they might have the pics you were looking for. I've found dead websites from the early 90's.

Cheers!

I downloaded a bunch of images of Tektronix test equipment which I presume is from the right era.
Luckily the Tektronix scopes and such are in a modular form, with a "mainframe" housing which can take 6 single slot components or 3 double slot components, or combinations. This will make it easy to make quite a few props quickly without such obvious repetition.
I started with just making 4 textures, but I have about 20 or 30 different ones ready for some photoshop procedures.
I may or may-not model the buttons switches and knobs, right now its okay from a distance without them.
I also found some pictures of the type of computer used by Athena, Omega and 5 of the lower workstations. Naturally it was also made by Tektronix.

I spent quite a few hours trying to figure out what monitors, computers and electronics combinations go to each of the 9 work stations in the bridge lower deck. I have it mostly figured out now, I think.

The B&W photo's have been helpfull since they have better coontrast and sharper edges.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Yes the one in "red alert" mode shows Athena doing something with the "hole" in the top of the box to her right. I couldnt make out what it was before, but now it looks like a monitor facing upwards, with a typical recessed keypad. Thanks.
Alos I notice that Omega's computer is not a 4051 like the others. he just has a keyboard and separate monitor.

Re: need help, Bridge reference photos

I have screen caps, its really the unusual pictures that I am looking for now. The one or two pics with the two kids would be invaluable. They may have been taken after "Fire in Space" because the beam was lying on the command platform, and it seems that a lot of oscilloscopes and possibly monitors had been removed from their holes.

Perhaps close-ups of any switches/buttons on the bridge. The recessed buttons on either side of each lower level work station are still a mystery for me right now. I have the computers, monitors and test equipment props mostly figured out.
I also need to identify how many different vaccuform wall panels were used and in what arrangment. Thats after the smaller deatils of course.

Worked a bit on the Tektronix 4051 computer. I am varying slightly by using about a 2 inch larger screen, it just really looks better that way. I also rounded the back end off a some. the real one is cut off square and has the cooling fan, memory card slots and data connectors. They hid that in the show, so I'm basically going to do the same.
I have about 20 more buttons to add, as well as the program tape which normally sticks out a little from the vertical slot next to the screen.
I actually managed to download a user manual and repair guide. That computer cost about $6,000 at the time, almost the price of a new car.

wow that's incredible.

I am now getting set up for models I have to do.. I have started work on the Colonial Laser. I going to rebuild some of the round parts but that's easy I hope to finish it in a few days as all the hard work is already done.

then I be going back to the landing bay. Eastern alliance Destroyer. Adama rooms

Re: need help, Bridge reference photos

Some of the rounded parts on the pistols were place holders for more detailed ones, and others were realy high-poly and intended to be used for normal baking to a lower poly mesh. After looking at it again the other day it seems it was really only about half finished.

Adama rooms, great :)
I have always pictured Adama's quarters as being 3 rooms.
1. Office, which we see most often
2. Bedroom, seen in one episode.
3. Dining room, we see this in LPOG. It could be a senior officers ward room, but I always got the impression that it was part of the commanders Suite.

And of course commander Cains office was different than Adama's.

yes I saw with the blueprints in the background there where a few thing missing but the bulk of the work is there.

The Office is for the Fan film but also for the Techmanual
something like the Star Trek Manual showing KirkĀ“s rooms.

For the landing bay I want to expand on it. in the one I made before I placed a control room in it.. and I was never happy with it. I was thinking of having it above the deck in a kind of cut and slope .. to see vipers as they land.

We can look at all aspect over the next few weeks.

I am looking to a few friends of site that may help with other aspect of the project.... I just need to see how to plan every thing. .

I will invite them here when the time comes..

Right I off for a walk and clear my head for this :)
