A WHITE CHRISTMAS for Muffit!!!!!!!!! :)

Hello all!!! Merry Christmas!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jazzed right now... we returned home from sunny Orlando late last night to...... A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!! I am so thrilled!!! Western Tennessee almost never gets any snow till at least February, and even then, just an inch or so a year. But a freak ice storm hit just a few days ago while we were gone, and now we have a GORGEOUS 3 inches of ice and snow EVERYWHERE!!! :D :D :D

And the daggit luck doesn't stop there... we were gonna return Thursday night instead, but at the last minute I added a day to our itinerary so we could relax the last day and reserve it for travelling. So glad I did!!! The airport and interstates were iced over and virtually impassable for the last 2 days... it only cleared just yesterday enough for experienced icy drivers to get thru. And we were gonna take our car on the long drive to the airport, but the transmission went out the day before we were to leave... GOOD THING!!! We could NEVER have driven back home on this ice... hey, we're from California... the only ice we ever see is in the refrigerator!!! :D The Daggit Upstairs is sure watching out for Muffit this season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went crazy this morning taking pics, and wanted to share them with you all. I reduced them way down so they would download fast, feel free to take a gander. All my life I've dreamed of a white Christmas, and never ever thought I'd have one. Then my VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS in Tennessee, Beaver Claws -- err, I mean Santa Claus -- left me a most WONDERFUL present!!! It's so rare here, I feel it was just for me!!!

SOMEONE up there must be listening to my prayers after all... :D

Here you go all... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Very cool.

No evergreen trees? I love the way the ice sticks to them.

I figure you are somewhere aroung Jackson or Paris.

It has almost all melted here in BNA.

I've heard rumors about this thing called "snow".....

Being a southern californian still... I think its a myth.

;)

Meeeeerrry Christmas!!!

Muffit December 25th, 2004 02:14 PM

Thanks Thomas!!!

BRG December 25th, 2004 03:09 PM

We also had our first white Christmas in years in south west Scotland, although it is just a light dusting of snow, nothing like 3 inches! ;)

You can't beat it! You wake up on Christmas morning feeling great anyway, but when you look out your window and see crisp, white virgin snow against a perfect blue sky, the world seems perfect! :) Indeed it's a rare treat for BRG as well!

Enjoy it Muffit, and merry Christmas. :) :salute: :muffit:

Thank you so much BRG!!!

Did you know, in places the ice/snow is actually up to a foot deep??? Our walkway is filled to the top of the steps, and there are drifts here and there even deeper!!

I still can't believe it.. first a dream vacation and now this... somebody pinch my mushies, I must be dreaming!!! :D

Muffit,

You must have been a very good daggit this year!! ;)

We had a white "Monday before Christmas" but, alas, it melted at about the time you and Jewels were getting this blast of winter.

Enjoy!

I made a special "hollow" snowball for you folks, in Beaver Hollow! CATCH!!

:D

Rowan December 28th, 2004 11:56 AM

Muffit thank you so much for sharing the pictures!! I do miss seeing snow for Christmas!!! but I don't miss the ice or the shoveling or the cold :D . I've had nothing but rain for the past week here and everything is still very green including the grass it's kind of wierd for me coming from back East ! Christmas time and green grass just don't seem right somehow LOL!! ;)

The one cool thing about living here though is that if I do miss the snow I can take a short trip to the mountains and be surrounded by snow in an hour !! :D

BST December 28th, 2004 11:57 AM

Ah, snow. We had snow last New Years that kept me home for three days. Rare around here.

And that's OK with me. You don't have to shovel rain.

Unless you live in a houseboat. And even then, a bucket might better serve.
