Disney aquires Star Trek

NOOOOOOOO!!!!

DISNEY ACQUIRES STAR TREK, ANNOUNCES 'TREK WARS' FILM!

It seems Disney's franchise buying spree is not over yet. A Wampa News source, who attended a Disney shareholders meeting recently, has divulged to us that Disney has just struck a deal with Paramount and will soon own another intergalactic franchise: Star Trek.

Yes, that's right, the likes of Iron Man, Luke Skywalker & James T. Kirk will all soon share the same relation with Mickey Mouse himself.

While Disney is interested in producing more Star Trek films, such as Star Trek 3, 4 and so on, they are also planning to immediately begin production on a Star Trek/Star Wars crossover film titled "Trek Wars". Very little details were given about Trek Wars, but as the title implies, we can certainly expect to see connections made between two of the biggest sci-fi franchises ever.

Bob Iger enthusiastically exclaimed, "We've got all of these movies and characters and Galaxies at our disposal, why keep them separate? If People like Star Trek and Star Wars separately, imagine how much they're going to love a combination of the two?"

Iger also hinted at including the Marvel Universe in his plans.

"Get Patton Oswalt on the phone!"

Bob Iger is also said to have expressed his desire to have a monopoly on all "Star" franchises. Disney is currently in talks to purchase Battlestar Galactica, Stargate and Star Fox.

Re: Disney aquires Star Trek

either:
1. this came out of The Onion
or
2. Bob Iger was told about mash ups & cross overs... and took it to be a serious buiness plan for Sci Fi fanchises... its a small world after all.. its a small world after all....its a small small errrh universe..

:D:D

on the positive side
1. Marvel stuff is doing OK under Disney
2. if Kirk thought Tribbles were trouble, wait till he encounters Jar Jar Binks, or the Ewoks
3. we can have a Disney Shape O set with Death Star Spheres and square Borg Cubes, and Apophis's Pyramid...
4. Starbuck plus Han Solo plus Mal Reynolds could be too much of a good thing?

:D

There is a hush-hush project underway to re-imagine "Spock's Brain". The story revolves around another one of Ambassador Spock's time travels. This time he goes to Flynn's arcade and is transported onto the Grid. He meets up with the ghost of Flynn and all hell breaks loose.
