eeks sorry! I'm doing to you what others did to me when I first started here...It's the little pictures we have by our name and it took me a long time to figure out how to do it, if your not good with computers this is going to be a bit of a challenge, if your good at it then no swet!
they have instructions on how to do it on one threads but it was a converation on another thread between Muffit and someone else that really helped me to understand how it was done, and I don't remember where I saw that now..it was a discussion about her web page.:)

So how do you get to put a picture up then.

Part of it is easy. Click on the "preferences" tab underneath all the spaceships at the top of your screen, click on "edit avatar" in the middle of the left-hand column, then click on "use custom avatar", click on "browse", find your avatar file, and double click on it.

The HARD part is finding or creating an avatar that you like and saving it to your own computer. The end result needs to be pretty small (what was it, 5KB??), so you may need to play with the file awhile before it is small enough.

I could say more, but why don't you play with the project a bit, and then cry for help when you get stuck, like everybody else did.

Once you get to 25 posts you go to your User Control Panel (User CP) and click on "Edit Avatar" and then choose a file (either from your computer or from the web) Then choose upload. And that should be that.

sorrell the hard part for me was figuring out how to use microsoft photo editor to get the picture to the right size since I'd never used that before. :)

good luck! just go to the help thread when you get stuck post your questions and people will :) talk you through it, I think there is some stuff there all ready from others who needed help.

Hi, sorrell! If I haven't said so before, welcome to the Fleets! They're right, you need to reach 25 posts before you can get an avatar. There's a thread around, somewhere (I think in "The Help Zone") that spells it all out (size, etc), but if you need some help just yell.
