*dances across the room singing "Yes, We have no bananas"*
|
I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.....
|
Sorry, FG - can't let this die just yet.
Rock and Roll Hootchie-Koo, at the top of the lungs, playing air guitar. (remember Rick Derringer?) I am Dawg :warrior: |
*Sigh* nothing important to say...... just a stab at being last.....:p
|
Sorry, Dawg, never heard of him.
|
Rick Derringer
Mid-70's or early 80's rocker (that was the dim time) - "Rock & Roll Hootchie-Koo" was his only hit.
I feel old..... I am Dawg :warrior: |
Sorry, the song isn't familiar either.
|
*jewels steals the thread, momentarily*
(I only get to keep it if everyone else has already gone to bed). ;) |
Woohoo....first one up this morning.......
|
FG, it was a guitar song popular, if I remember correctly, in the late '70s on the "hard rock" radio stations. You still hear it every once in a while on "classic rock" (not "oldies", yet) stations.
It really wasn't that good a song, but it showed off his guitar talents (such as they were). I feel old..:( I am Dawg :warrior: |
I feel so old I'm not even going to enter this discussion..... :p :naughty:
|
Ah well, I didn't listen to hard rock untill the emergence of the hair-bands, and even then I only dabbled.
|
Hair bands.....
I think just about the only good one was Cinderella, maybe Bon Jovi later on. Now, start talking about Twisted Sister....... :yikes: We're not gonna take it, No, we ain't gonna take it....... I am Dawg :warrior: |
I liked Cinderella's videos, I actually own a couple Bon Jovi CDs, Motley Crue was somewhat apealing, and I thought CC Deville was so cute I didn't care how Poison actually sounded, my sis tried to get me into Dio, but like I said, I mostly just dabbled.
|
Ronnie James Dio fronted Richie Blackmore's "Rainbow" (song "Man on the Silver Mountain"), he fronted a revamped Black Sabbath before Ozzy went back, then struck out on his own. He's good.
Motley Crue was OK, I guess (they covered "Smokin' in the Boys Room" pretty well). Don't talk to me about Poison (*shudders*). I am Dawg :warrior: |
Oh, I'm over the Poison thing. I've seen what CC looks like now, and did his voice always sound like that?
|
Wasn't his main claim to fame the guitar?
I am Dawg :warrior: |
I suppose.
|
I'm putting together a compilation CD of Aerosmith now.
They haven't lost a step since the "big hair" days, either. I am Dawg :warrior: |
They've been around since before the "big hair" days, and no, they haven't lost a thing.
