I've been reading the whole virtual second and third seasons recently. I wasnt really too wild about virtual season two, but this season 3 is great, really appeals to me.

What I'm not understanding in this episode is what sort of auction is this base ship auction? I think I must have missed part of it at the beginning and may need to re-read it.
I have especially enjoyed reading about the rebel Cylons, Baltar and the Earth people.

The "auction" is a practical joke that has swept through the Fleet, rather than anything with any real substance.

At no point is Baltar actually concerned that someone will auction his Base Ship out from under him.
