The Mission Continues - Comment Thread

Here's the thread for comments on Commander Taggart's first attempt at fanfic, The Mission Continues.
http://www.colonialfleets.com/forums...ead.php?t=7344

Let's make sure this isn't his last attempt.

A fun read that captures BSG at its finest, set (as we hope any BSG movie will be) about 25 yahren after Hand of God.

This story rocks. It doesn't read like an off-the-cuff, spur-of-the-moment thing. It captures exactly what we have been asking for, year after year, disappointment after disappointment. Complete scripts have been built on less than what he's created here.

Excellent work.

Color.

Dawg is correct - it rocks!!

The story moves at a quick pace, is easy to follow. We need to see more of this kind of writing!

A very well done Commander.

Aw, shucks; thanks Rep!

Bill,

I like what you have so far. I didn't get to read much...gotta run back to the rathole and await word on my next music gig. But keep up the good work. Well done, indeed. I like your chain of command in the story. Nice touch. :salute:

Respectfully, and with encouragement to you,
Martok2112 (Steve)

I would truelly like to see more of THIS storyline! I think it would
be VERY, VERY, VERY INTERESTING.

CommanderTaggart July 26th, 2004 09:11 PM

Thanks for saying so, Shingingstar. Maybe I'll take a couple of days off before the summer is out, and head to the beach with my laptop, and churn something else out in this Universe.

For everyone who's taken the time to read it, thanks. I greatly appreciate it.

amberstar July 26th, 2004 09:18 PM

I just had time, and it is truly Amazing work! Please don't stop writing, I loved it!

Sooooooooooooooooo when is he going to write MORE? :halo:

FireStar September 6th, 2004 12:27 AM

Fantastic. I could see it in my head. Hey I gota say if there had to be a female starbuck that one Savanah fit the bill to a T. A daughter who was like him Very cool and fitting payback I would say. :duck:  :warrior: ;)

Love it

Thanks, Firestar, Shiningstar, et. al. I actually took a notion to write an entire one hour episode before the summer was out, but then real life reared it's ugly head. I do have, however, about three weeks of vacation that I have to use before the end of the year... so, maybe around the holidays? I'll do my best!

Yes, CT, keep up the good work. I like where you are going with this tale.

Respect and admiration,
Martok2112  :salute:

I started with this read Bill, very good indeed  I am looking foward to your new one :) I hope to read it this week.

That was just flat out FUN. I like Boomer the Viper enhancement developer. And Tigh, Starbuck and Apollo in their roles. I'm iffy on if Starbuck or Apollo would be the initial tactical wizard in this situation--Apollo was often more headlong than Starbuck, but Starbuck usually got Apollo out of the mess he'd put himself or them into. Hmmmm. Larson & Savannah "doing like dear old Dad" was a cool twist.

CommanderTaggart January 4th, 2005 01:14 PM

Jewels... while Savannah continues to be like "Dear 'ol Dad" in BlackStar, she also develops something more of her own personality. I've been critcized (by both men and women) for making her too flirty, and praised (by both men and women) for making her so flirty. Gotta love BSG fandom! ;)

Thanks for the kind words.

Oh! I wasn't even focusing on the flirty part! I was thinking about she and Larson taking out the basestar's guns, a la Starbuck & Apollo. And dodging orders to do it also. ;)

I know, Jewels, I'm talking about Savannah's character in the new one. See the top of this forum. I wrote a full-length episode that picks up where Mission Continues left off. ;)

Yes, Martok! LOL! I haven't written another once since BlackStar. Though, I'm sure I will... someday. ;)
