BSG Fans Unite: A BSG Revival Project.

I was curious, if Richard Hatch would allow us permission to do this. If we the fans followed in Richard's footsteps,as in his 2nd Comming project, and used our own money to film an episode or feature length film of BSG for the purposes of presenting at bsg convetions or events like Buttnumbathon. We could base it off of Richard's novels, if he allows us to do so.

With various fans contributing in different ways, such as one group provides the costumes, one provides an area for filming, one group does the special effects (you know who you are, I saw the work you did for Millenium, NICE!), etc., I think this could REALLY work.

The purpose of doing this would be

1 It would be A LOT OF FUN!!!!! I mean fans best suited for the roles would have a chance to portray their favorite characters, since I doubt we would be able to take the actual actors away from thier busy schedule to work on a fan based project for free, I mean we will NOT be making ANY money from this. We will be doing this out of the sheer love of the series.

2 It would show the powers that be such as Sci Fi, Universal, Mr. Larson and Mr. DeSantos, and even Richard himself how much we as fans TRULY BELIEVE in a true continuation of the series. When they see how much effort we are willing to put in to making a homemade film it will convince all of them just how serious we are about this project, and that we are not just a bunch of complaining fans who are unhappy at any little change in our series.

Let me know what you think. If this takes off, and if the ball actually gets rolling on this, please PLEASE, only say you'll contribute if you are SERIOUS and trully believe in this project!

Hope to hear from you soon!

This is the FIRST step in something I have planned (and hope to have finished within the year).

Sorry I can't say more.

BTW, the ep playing on R/G is OUTSTANDING!!

No this has nothing to do with making money. It has to do with a love for the series. But it looks like no one is interested.

BTW good job Warrior and OWD, just listened to it.

;) Gotcha!

Well let me start by offering to do the sound for it.
Voice overs, sound effects, music and such.

The only thing is I won't be available for a while do to this project that we have on the go. Going through thousands and thousands of sound pieces, just to find words from two different people that interact and make sense, is time consuming but the pay off is big for all of us and so would the pay off be for what you propose.

Yeah, I agree, this will take a while!

Take as much time for your project as necessary! It'll probably be a while before we get enough people together to do this. We have to find people who are right for the parts, preferably those within the same age bracket as the original actors.

Then we have to rent a place to shoot, my suggestion is an empty grocery store or Wal-mart(there is one in Wichita Falls). Its big enough for multiple sets and if we did it at a wall mart the storage area looks a lot like the freighter ships' interior.

We will need fans with either tailoring skills or those with existing costumes for us to use.

I appreciate you donating your sound expertise! If possible do you or someone else comne up with a refreshed version of the main theme and soundtrack, something with drums and choir vocals, we HAVE to come up with a better theme for the cylons. I've had something playing in my head that might work. It sounds like a hybrid march with the imperial march from Star Wars, the Klingon march, and the metalic tone of the Terminator theme.

There are three past projects from three different groups of people, myself included, which may yet get off the ground in due time. Purely non-commercial and "by the fans, FOR the fans."

My two cubits,
Michael

I own a full boogie Colonial Warrior uniform with blaster sans helmet. I do a lot of community theatre in Enid Oklahoma. I believe only Dirk can play Starbuck, Hatch is the only Apollo...I'm available for any other role after March.

We need to get this organized and decide who is going to do what.

We need

Actors

Someone to adapt the novel Armaggedon into a workable script

A composer or someone with experience in adapting music

We have my buddy OWD as a sound man (e-mail me my friend)

A director

More people with costumes, or someone with tailoring skills.

Remember this is not for profit the money will come out of our own pockets to finance this (which is why I think Universal and others will pay more attention to us)

A place to film

A camera crew

A special effects team **cough** Titon **cough**

Concept artists

People to build sets.

If we could get help from those who have conections GREAT!

LET'S KEEP THE FAITH ALIVE!

Only we can do it, like Richard said it is up to us!!!

Trevor, I write and compose too. I have another project that was a cool side story written by Repcisg. It got put on the back burner do to an ilness and an agreement to air it on another station first.

I'm going to look into having it air on Radio Galactica real soon.
In this project I composed the orchistra score through a program called Orchistral.
