Battlestar Argo Discussion Thread

Folks,

Please use this thread to discuss the story, "Battlestar Argo".

Just finished Chapter 17!

AJ,

I like this story!!!

The best part is that it has a feeling of still having a whole lot of story left to be told!!

I'm looking forward to how this story eventually plays out.

:D

AJMarks March 2nd, 2006 08:26 AM

You're right, there is still a lot to go, S-metal, Arbus, Skartians, Keela, Tiger and others that you haven't yet met or know about. :D
That doens't include the next encounter with the Cylons or the Galactica, or Cain, the Pegasus, or Commander Backus and the Pacifica again.

Hello AJMarks,
Echoing what BST said, WOW! I like the story immensely. :salute:
Please keep going on this. Can't wait to see what else happens. Great work!

AJMarks July 22nd, 2006 08:48 AM

Thanks for the kind words. Working on getting the next couple of parts up. There is still a lot to discover, a war to fight, mysteries to solve, new mysteries appear, new allies. Its been a fun story to write.

CBSG4ever July 24th, 2006 11:51 AM

It definitely is fun to read. BTW, I have a question or two to ask you. I wouldn't want you to give away anything about the story of course, but is this a stand-alone story or could this eventually merge with the Galactica timeframe and the "Big G" herself? You sort of eluded to this in the post below with BST. ;) If you'd rather not elaborate further, I will definitely understand. :salute:

My second question deals with a point in the story that I probably should put in spoiler brackets as not to give anything away to those who may not have read it yet.
Spoiler
In Chapter 4-Ambushed Squared, the Argo stumbles accross a Cylon force. They deduce it to be a diversionary force. I wondered what battle was being staged? I thought at first the Cylons were staging for Molecay because you mentioned the new task force for the Colonies centered around the Pegasus and Cmdr. Cain was being formed. But I kinda thought that was a bit early for the Battle of Molecay (10 to 14 yahren before the final destruction). I thought maybe the Battle of Cosmara Archipeligo. Could you help clarify this for me? Thanks and best always.

Keep up the great work.

Great news!!!

AJ forwarded the latest chapters to me and I've just uploaded them. (Chapters 20 through 25).

:)

AJMarks July 24th, 2006 08:52 PM

Hey thanks, I'll try and answer your questions.

Spoiler
The chaper 4 battle, it was actually a previous 'final battle attack' by the Cylons on the colonies. Because it failed the Cylons started thinking of another way to attack the colonies. It set up the events which ended up in what you see in 'Saga of a Star World' by the betrayal of humankind by Baltar.

In reality though the chapter was more for the loss of Martin, who is spoken of in "The Lost Warrior" and to explain 'Red Eye'. I never quite understood how a Colonial warrior and a Cylon ended up so far away from the Colonies and this was my way to explain it. Hope that helps.

I had four general 'chapters' for Battlestar Argo.
1. The Voyage to Earth
2. Contact with Earth
3. War with the Arbus
4. Uniting with the Galactica and the RTF.

I might add another chapter later on once I start writing in the 4th chapter. I'm currently posting in the early part of chapter 3 and writing in the latter part of chapter 3.

CBSG4ever July 24th, 2006 11:51 PM

Yes, that does answer the questions. Thank you very much.
Spoiler
Yes, I did notice that you tied up the BG series loose end regarding Martin in "The Lost Warrior". I thought you did that rather well. :salute: BTW, I do hope we get to see or hear something of the Pegasus in this story arc.

Can't wait to read what happens next. (I guess I'll have to... :D )

Been doing some work on this, and I hope BST is ready, going to be sending him some chapters to bring this site up-to-date.

AJ, read your story over at tour website and let me say GREAT job capturing the feel of the original show, while taking it to your own places. Only problem, the last chapters' link is broken. Love to read it when it's fixed. Once again, great job.

Which chapters in particular and I will get those fixed?

Thanks for the heads up.

:)

Folks,

I'm happy to announce that AJ has sent us the remaining chapters in epic story, "Battlestar Argo". They've been uploaded and are available for viewing in the Battlestar Argo story thread.

It's been a while since I read this story. Methinks it's time to open that book again and fall into the adventure!!

Who's with me? ;)

This is an AMAZING story!!! Well written, thought out and perfectly executed. One of my favorites.

I, intact, am including the basic premise and characters into a fan fic I'm writing over at Blackstar Squadron. It's not the exact story, but a tribute to a great story.

If you haven't read it, please do.

Interesting read Reaper. I am curious how the Argo will fit in your universe.

I honestly only have one more post planned with the Argo right now. But I foresee it unwinding pretty similar. There is one major difference though. That is the Pegasus.

With the Argo already on its way. It'll be some time before the stories meet again.
