Announcing - Dawg's House
A long time in the making, I invite you to visit my new site:
Dawg's House Dawg's House is about me, Dawg. It is a small site dedicated to my writings about Battlestar Galactica - my opinions, my rants and raves, my fanfic. It also has links to the work of many of my friends, like Muffit, Sandy, Warrior, Martok. I invite you to check it out. Welcome. I am Dawg :warrior: |
Congrats on the launch of your site.......interesting to check out....
And thanks for linking to (and endorsing) my site.......much appreciated.... |
Just wanted to let everybody know that I've posted a new Dawg's Bark column at my site (and Warrior's).
It is not for the squeamish (or easily offended); the Great Wise Guru is interested in the Truth, and he calls 'em likes he sees 'em. ;) I am Dawg :warrior: |
John -
I read your fanfic story today. I really enjoyed it! Very well written and very engaging. I think I liked it better than the BSG book I'm reading right now.... Bryan |
Thanks, Bryan! I had a lot of fun writing that one.
I wanted to let everyone know that I've got a new column up in Dawg's Bark. Check it out! I am Dawg :warrior: |

|
I want to thank everybody for all the comments I've received so far to my little site.
And now: I've Been Thinking... This is a direct link to my newest "Dawg's Bark" essay - and one I'd like every old-timer on the BSG boards (or not) to read. Comments welcome. I am Dawg :warrior: |
Interesting. :)
|
It's always been easier to tear something apart than to build something.
Good words, Dawg. :) |
Interesting read.
One request though. I really appreciate the nod to my site, but you have put the incorrect URL. Hope you can edit that. Best Wishes for your site and writings..... |
Thanks for catching that, ernie. I meant to go back and check it but it got past me. It's fixed now.
I appreciate the comments so far! I am Dawg :warrior: |

My 2 cents as a long term TOS fan, and lurker/boards denizen... We profess to like TOS because we admire a tale of courage during adversity and grace under fire, with the undercurrents of mythology being revelaed by parts, set in a wider scheme of choice and temptation between good and evil. (and a whole lot of other, equally worthy stuff..) These are not the obvious qualities in the show, but somethings that somepeople find there. There has always been an exciting undercurrent of fan creativity attached to the show, from the earliest fanzines to recent audio and video pieces. These things should be nurtured, enjoyed and celebrated. To do that we need only have the courage of our convictions. Bitterness and negativity does not make good company. Being of good cheer with like minded people does.. Cheers, Lara |

It has been a very long time since I felt inspired enough to do one of my Dawg's Bark essays - but I've done a new one:

Re: Announcing - Dawg's House
:D
Nice thoughts. I think the ol' gal might just be in good hands too. (especially if Tom's involved—I trust his story sense. I'm not exactly an X-men comic book fan (never read one) but X-men & X2 rocked.) |
Re: Announcing - Dawg's House
Very well done! Bravo! Bravo! :salute:

Re: Announcing - Dawg's House
Good observations about entertainment needing to be the reverse of the real world we live in. I'd go further and say that entertainment aslo has to be something the audience member can put himself into. I also agree that the new Trek film greatly impacted Singer's chances of bringing the franchise in a new direction. However, the more I think about it, the more I think that Singer will need an outstanding story. The modern movie audience who remembers the original Galactica is much smaller than those intimately familiar with Trek. The GINO audience is a momentary flash in the sky and little more (and that might be a bit too favorable). In many ways, Singer will have to re-establish the franchise, even if he's presenting the same material.
The core of Galactica is amazingly strong for stories. I know because I've written about eight scripts and know that the more you play with it, the stronger it gets, something I doubt could have ever been said of GINO or Galactica 1980. Hopefully they'll have smart people working on this. Noting how they handled X1 and X2 makes me hopeful. All my best, Russell |
Re: Announcing - Dawg's House
Very, very well written and a good bite to it. *pardon the pun* ;)
