Warning: TOS Viper models are becoming scace!

I just ordered my last Viper model from Sirius Rocketry for $37.99. My last one was from GoHastings for $20!!!
We're seeing the end of the line here, my peeps!!!
It's from scratch after this.:wtf:

I've got 2 sitting in my closet. I have a Monogram re-release from the late 90's and the more recent re-tooled release with the cockpit detail included. If they're getting scarce, I'm glad I have the ones I've got. The only model that I really need to lay my hands on is the Cylon Base Star.

Wow. Either I'm not searching extensively enough, or this is the ONLY place you can order a Viper model from...
http://www.siriusrocketry.biz/ishop/...roducts_id=157

$38. I guess I just ordered my last one...

I do... I picked one up in a local hobby shop years ago when it was re-released. It's not much of a kit, but with some scratch-detailing, it would look passable.

I noted that you paid nearly 40 dollars for a Viper that you ordered... You paid way too much - if you take the time to cruise eBay and Amazon.com, you'll find that there are plenty of Viper kits out there and for much less money.

The fact that the kit's been re-released twice in the past 10 years way past the original release date back in 1978 tells me that this kit isn't going to be something that will disappear altogether. If I've ever learned anything by shopping online, there's always another - even if it appears to be the "last one" at that particular moment.

I just searched Amazon.com and came up empty for the Viper model, but I also checked eBay and came up with these:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=rev...=p3286.c0.m359

http://cgi.ebay.com/1978-MONOGRAM-CO...item3a6344bfc4

http://cgi.ebay.com/Monogram-Model-K...item43a53cf48b

Now, there are also a small collection of deluded sellers on eBay that are attempting to sell the original Monogram release for prices ranging from 45 -125.00. Considering that the most recent release has better tooling, detail and extra features, it's hardly worth it. The last 2 links are also original 1978 releases, but those sellers are pricing them to sell, not to fund an investment portfolio.

...ummm No on Amazon. REALLY scarce there, as in... none.

If you can find some, link 'em and I'll add to the CF Amazon store.

Thanks Bryan, but these are to bid for, not to buy. I need instant purchasing ability! I need Vipers, and I need them NOW!!!!

Why do you need so many? What's the urgency here? You just said that you purchased your "last one" at 38.00 through an online source, so that means your resources have run out by your reckoning. I provided an additional resource for you to buy what you need and you can only build one at a time anyways.

I did a search of completed auctions for the Viper kit - the average completed bid ended at 25 bucks per kit. You may not have the patience to go through the bidding process, but if you were more patient, it would save you money and get you what you want.

I don't mean this to sound like a criticism, but I see so many people stop themselves from attaining a goal due to the fact that they don't have the patience to put in a bit of extra effort to get what they want. Instant gratification isn't "all that and a bag of chips" if you fall short of your goal because you stop yourself in the process.

Just trying to help. Good luck with whatever you're working on.

Sorry Bryan, I'm a bit of a goofball at times, and not everyone gets my 'humour'. I really appreciate your search for me & other Viper-builders here.

And I'm full of patience, or this

would already be painted by now. No, I'm taking time to do it just right.

My urgency comes from the fact that only a month ago, GoHastings at Amazon was selling the Viper for $15, and the Raider for $9! Now, all of a sudden, NO Viper, and the Raider is $24 (plus shipping of course)!!!! That screams to me "That's All, Folks!"

Again, thanks for your input. I never meant to be a felgercarbheel here.:salute:

No

In fact, I just bid on one of those Bryan linked to... THEN remembered to look in my closet. Now I am hoping I *lose* the bid :rotf:
