Colonial Viper Cutaway Project

I'm planning my personal January New Year's project- a cutaway Viper that shows the interior workings, spaces, access, generators, etc. You would see exactly where Adama rode in Apollo's fighter. This is in the concept phase at the moment, so any Warrior comments, advice or suggestions would be of immense help, and also probably fascinating to read.
For instance, it's my idea that the pilot seat can fold open & down it two places to allow access to a storage area that can be made to accommodate a passenger or to rescue a wounded man or woman (or Daggit).

Honestly, my first thought was that it couldn't really be done, which is totally why I want to try! :salute:

I imagine they used the two-seated Viper from BSG1980 in the frist episode. Makes sense it existed before the attack. Still possibly a storage area behind the single seat that could accommodate a person in a pinch. As far as for the idea - I like it! I've seen a partial one before, but can't locate it at the moment.

I don't think so, it was definitely Apollo's one-seater in the episode...

There's a case to be made for "I'll take you down in my fighter..." being shorthand for ESCORTING Adama in his shuttle, though.:?:
What do you think?

I do have some personal pics I downloaded many years ago (for personal enjoyment) concerning the failed attempt at a Battlestar Galactica Tech Manual. I'm refraining from re-posting the pics at the request of the creator.
I found them originally at TFXart by Mike McAdams. Ken Thompson was also involved with the project.
Here's a link I found. About 3/4 of the way down you'll find a partial Viper cutaway. Not sure how accurate it is, but it's quite interesting.

Thanks! Quite interesting, but I conjure it's (as mine will be) a personal idea of what the innards look like.;)

I think a place behind the seat is possible... Such as a storage compartment for emergency tools and spare parts that, when emptied, could be made for someone to sit(uncomfortably), but possible.

Thanks, that's definitely cool.

Landing gear deployment & retraction will of course have to be addressed in this. (I see the beginnings of a rabbit hole here.....:...:)
