Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley'd and thunder'd; Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred. |
Excellent verse Top Gun :salute:

it's not my work, it's really old. It's about the Charge of the Light Brigade
|
Paradise on my right, Hell on my left, and the Angol of Death behind.

Oh you can search far and wide
You can drink the whole ground dry But you'll never find a beer so brown As the one we drink in our home town... You can keep your fancy ales! You can drink them by the flagon! But the only brew for the brave and truuuuuueee comes from the Green Dragon! Hey, ho, to the bottle I go, To heal my heart and drown my woe! Rain may fall and wind may blow, But there still be many miles to go! Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain, And stream that falls from hill to plain! Better than rain or rippling brook, Is a mug of beer inside this Took! |
He’s bound to be guilty ‘r he

To second part: It's from J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, first book. |
Referring;
Quote:
"To Isengard! Though Isengard be ringed and barred with doors of stone; Though Isengard be strong and hard, as cold as stone and bare as bone, We go, we go, we go to war, to hew the stone and break the door; For bole and bough are burning now, the furnace roars—we go to war!" Though with that as an example maybe JRR should have stuck to prose? |
The Ent songs were the most boring ones
|
That was due to JRR writing them as boring characters.

I'm most lucky to be a hungarian, our beloved Árpád Göncz did a superb translation, the hungarian version of the book is far better than the english original. Especially at the verses.
|
That's rather cool
