In Galactica 80, Dillon made an interesting comment to Troy just after they were assigned to the United States.

Dillon commented about one of the other teams being assigned to the USSR-

"Ya know, I kinda like the sound of the place ___ got- The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. I always liked Unions. Not often you see an entire continents population of women to choose from. I think we're going to have one fine time."

I thought unions in BG were married folks. So how'd there be any women to choose from if the entire population of the continent (in his mind, mind you) were from a Union? :D

Did they possibly have some other type of a Union set up, where Union members got to choose from, perhaps, some Socialators (thus referrencing to the Socialist portion of the USSR name)?

Ya know... a good fan fic writers could probably use that and turn it into some Union thing created by none other than Starbuck ;)

After all, Dillon had to be but a kid Boxey's (Troy) age when the holocast happened, so he wouldn't know much about any union life in the Colonies. He'd had to have learned that in the fleet on the journey...

I could think up a couple of approches on the subject, but while my daughter is nearby.

Well when I think of the subject, not a damn thing comes to mind. but I find it interesting.

Another example of the differences in Earth/Colonial terminology.
