Hi all,
I just listened to Aaron's appearance on the radio show that is link to on his thread.
A repost of that link is :
http://spankwagon.net/audio/std/STD-2005-02-02.mp3
At the beginning there are some audio samples from the show, but one appears to be an alternate opening speech by Patrick McNee that I can't recall hearing before ?
Ok, so maybe I am having a mental moment and can't remember it, but does anyone know where it first appeared ???
Thanks, Ernie90125

Ernie,
Thanks for sharing that. That is an alternate McNee opening monologue.
Here's the transcription:
"In the seventh millennium of time, a tribe of humanoids engaged in a terrifying conflict against a Race of Machines. The Humans lost.
Now, lead by their last surviving warship, the mighty Battlestar Galactica, a handful of survivors moves slowly across the heavens, in search of their ancestral brothers. A tribe of Humans, known through ancient records to be located somewhere on a distant shining planet. A planet called Earth."

Patrick Macnee did say at Galacticon that there were several versions (6 or 7) that he had recorded 26 years, now going on 27 years ago. (TOS BG pilot began principal shooting in March, 1978, don't know when his recordings were done, only that it was before the Movie was shown in Canada).
I'd have to say I like what they went with for the pilot and the series better than this version though. Still it would be neat to hear him say it.

I have an mp3 of the opening that's being talked about. I'm not sure how to post it, though :(
