The characters' descendants — Buzz Bunny and the like — will be superhero action figures for the cartoon set in the year 2772.
"If anything, it's an homage to the legacy instead of a destruction of the legacy."
Doesn't sound like a re-imagining to me... rather it sounds like a continuation in the far future ;)

There it does, but on a network news show this morning, one of the dorks behind the idea said that they wanted to reimagine the loonytunes characters for the new millenium. ;)
And the word he used was "reimagining" :D

They used it in the article too.
methinks they just dunno what the word means
To me, it goes like this-
Re-imagine: Change it's origins. Revamp it completely.
Re-boot (used by JMS in regards to Trek): Take it back to its roots, ie rebooting your PC back to it's original configuration before errors were added.
Continuation- Takes place afterwards, leaving what came before intact and continues the same story.
Prequel- Takes place before the original story to add depth to the original story.

Just as long as they still make REAL bugs Bunny cartoons as well. Falling anvils and safes and mountains and... :D

Mutant DNA I'm betting.

That Buzz Bunny looks a wee bit like the old 'Slant Eyed Jap' look of pre politically correct cartoons. :wtf: And surely any future Daffy Duck has to be the classic Duck Dodgers cartoon.
I have no proplem with this new style as long as it works along side the classic look of the originals.(like Batman Beyond) But if this to replace the old classic look, then I recon it will fail. Remember the reimaged look for Superman a few years ago? Within months he was back in the red cape & blue tights!

I remember the new superman image, didn't like it. Maybe if they had done a gradual change over the years it might have worked.
I think this new 'buzz bunny' is a replacement of dear old bugs. Think the problem isn't in how the character looks, but the writing lately.

There is no way my kid is watching that. Buzz looks like something out of a nightmare instead of a laid back, sarcastic, long eared wabbit that chomps carrots.
