Hi all!!

With all these folks copying the new expression, "The Lowdown", I thought I'd pitch my marble in on one of the most timelessly beloved films of any era, which, if any discussion on a film deserves the title, certainly this unforgettable film of the mysterious yet loveable Dr. Lao (pronounced Low or Lah-oh) does indeed!

Presenting The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao, starring Tony Randall (as a whole bevy of unique and wonderfully acted characters).

I saw this 42 years ago -- wow! Am I REALLY that old??? :wtf:
Last night I got a chance to share it for the first time (since she was a baby), with my daughter. Most movies (especially older ones) that are not animated require days of begging and pleading to get her to watch. But not THIS one. It was very late. She had school at 6:00 this morning. But no matter -- bring on le fromage de la belle fantasie!!! ;)

The true test of a film is not how "cutting-edge" its special effects are, how timely its content, how big its stars; but whether your children and their children will /still/ be awed and enchanted with it lifetimes later.

Mr. Randall and the inimitable George Pal have given us a treasure that does all this and more. How can you thank someone for bringing your entire family together on the couch one Sunday night; for the priceless smiles they wear while watching; for the ever endearing and still matchless surprise when the sea serpent sports the seven faces...

...of Dr. Lao...

Affectionately,
