Thanks for having your landing bay open, No avatar option yet, so you dont get to see mine :-(
Just wanted everyone here to know where I stand.
I am so dedicated TOS, my daughter who was born in April of 79, her name is Athena. She has met several Athenas in her life time, born around the time she was, guess what all their daddys were watching . All but one were BSG fans.
I saw the opener for the new show, I shut the TV off. It is an abonination.
The sad part is that it will have wrecked any chance for Richard Hatch and Jack Shaffier to do a proper come back of BSG.
I fly in Jumpgate, the best 3D space sim around. No vipers, but the flight model is the best Ive ever found.
I hope to get to know you all and add some flavor to your forums
Guess I have to hand write my tagline too:
"Maintain radio silence, until you land aboard the Battlestar Pegasus"

No one will change the course of my viper. I wont watch the new one, and what I saw has left a bad taste for some time to come.
You just cant gut a dream and exspect to believe any more.

I'm also new to posting here even tho I've been occasionnally reading these forums for over a year. Now that I read them more (and no longer post on Everquest boards as I'm long retired from that game) I finally decided to stop putting off joining and get in on the discussions.
I watched the original (and real) BSG when it first aired when I was 10. It was Adama saying "That was my son Mr. President" that got me hooked on the series. Even then I never compared it to Star Wars which I knew was a different story. I was upset at it's cancellation, thrilled when I was 11 to hear it was coming back and felt very let down at how bad G80 was. To this day I haven't seen all the G80 eps and hope to keep it that way.
I watched the mini in 12/03. I turned it off after 20 minutes (the baby scene). The following Sunday I watched the whole mini (except that scene). It had it's moments but I didn't like it. It was dark like the original should have been but lacked a lot of the alien, mythological and biblical elements that were in the original. As for the new show I stopped after episode 3. Not interested in modern sci fi as most of them are more effects than story imo. Last good series I liked was Babylon 5. Star Trek, I only like the original series.
I saw Richard Hatch's Second Coming Trailer several years ago at a convention. That was better than the new series imo. I hope Tom DeSanto still does his reunion movie. His Foundation demo was good. Sad that The Invaders (which I never heard of until it's mid 90s mini) was finished after 30 years. V might also be redone. Same with Quantum Leap (which I like). Why these shows instead of BSG with its popularity?
So anyone here have the limited Cylon head DVD box set? I have mine leaning against a wall as a decoration and the face kept falling off until I had to tape it. :)

Bojay,
Welcome to Colonial Fleets!!
Like the folks, before me, mentioned, we've got a good bunch of people here. Very talented folks, too, I might add.....wish I were...
If you haven't been there already, check out the Gallery for some awesome artwork and like Amber mentioned, check out the Colonial Library for some first-rate fan-fiction. There's another story on the way, too. I'm just having a few technical difficulties in uploading it.
There's a lot of good conversations going on, all over the place, about Battlestar, about sci-fi in general, and also about off-topic / current events. Take your pick, whatever your interest and jump right in.
Finally, if you just want to "goof-off" a bit, there are some games going on, in the Cafe..... The Last Person, Who Said It, The Letter Game, and many many more. Once you start, you'll get hooked and your post count will go through the roof!!
Enjoy!

Welcome to the Fleets!!!!! Its good to have you all here!
I read your posts and I know how you feel. But while the chances for us are low, its not zero. Just end of last year Tom DeSanto was pushing a new way to revive Battlestar Galactica again. Of course he's busy now with Transformers The Movie. But we still have a little bit of hope.
Check out the Appleseed thread in our anime section if you would like to see a good example of what can be done now.

Bojay, glad to have you aboard. As a fan of both TOS and TNS, I'm sorry you don't like the new series (I love it!), but I'm glad you are here at fleets to share your enthusiasm for BSG. Thanks for coming and I hope you find everyone as friendly as I have!
