Just brainstorming how wonderful it would be....

In fact, it has occurred to me for a nice 2-hour continuation movie to have Apollo lost in battle (as told in the first five minutes through a flashback), and that way the "Ships of Light" could be incorporated that find Apollo, who is ministered to onboard the ships of light by Jane Seymour, his former wife Serina. It would make for an excellent way to incorporate her character back into the storyline, as she has expressed much interest in returning, and then have, in Apollo's absence, the Galactica commandeered by Colonel Starbuck. The fans would love that very much..... Just imagine the show opening up on a semi-darkened bridge with an extreme close-up of a hand striking a match, and then bringing that match up to light a cigar, and as it glows, the camera pulls back to reveal acting commander Colonel Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) of the Battlestar Galactica. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps....

I can't see Dirk as Commander though.
I don't think he would want that....he wouldn't be able to stand not be in the mix of things in his Viper.....

So true Sis.......maybe he is on the bridge to aid Commander Tigh from time to time. That might work.

Ah, but perhaps only a temporary command, until Apollo is reinstated (found through the ships of light, etc.). Of course, a continuation would still need to feature the younger actors doing the majority of the flying, etc., but still have the original characters in background, but important roles.....
