How come we had 206 users on the site on January 4th? What made that date so special? I'm surprised. I didn't think there was really 206 Battlestar web fans out there that could be on the site at one time unless they were trying to break a record and knowingly working together. Even on the night the mini originally aired didn't Colonial Fleets top out under 100? :wtf:

was that the date we moved here?
It could be just that the database is messed up.
One of the odd problems I had was that when I made an exact copy of the database on this server of the old one it didn't work! I did it several times. Same result. So I installed a brand new blank forum, and added in one table of data at a time. Basically trying to MacGiver the forums to working.

The first one and second one are self explanatory. The last one is due to someone doing a search for "battlestar galactica" in a search engine like Google and then, linking to one of the links returned in their search results.
There were that many people interested in Battlestar Galactica and linking to, or "hitting" the Colonial Fleets web site, that night!
Weeza gettin' famous!!! :D

When I came to Fleets after 33 and Water aired I was curious to see if the all time on line record was broke that night or the following morning and surprise it was January 4th.

I wonder if the new series stays (or becomes) popular if that will be a regular occurrance. Does that stress your bandwidth?

From my understanding, one of the reasons that CF moved to another server was for an increase in bandwidth. We were bursting at the seams at the former server. Several years ago, whoo dah thunk it?
