Dear all,
A while ago I was searching for something interesting to buy on ebay, when I came across a old USAF Radio Station 7 inch single. I couldn't figure out why it had Battlestar Galactica in the title ? So I took a look....
It turned out that it was a promo-only single, intended to broadcast recruitment adverts about why people should join the USAF. Two of the spots on the record where of Lorne Greene being interviewed in character as Commander Adama, onboard the Battlestar Galactica !
To find this was quite a rarity, as these records, and the many others like them arriving at a radio station each week, would usually be smashed up after use. Many were required to be destroyed or returned - and often were.
I bid on the record and was winning on the item until, at the last second and I was outbid by a sniper. Don't you just hate it when someone does that...to use a wonderfully British phrase...It's just not cricket !
I decided that it was an important item, and I'd already had the thought that I would like to share it with my friends on Fleets, so I e-mailed the buyer and asked if it were possible he might be kind enough to make me a copy ?
Against all odd I would have thought, and with a bit of a risk that I might get reported to ebay if he took offense, I was very relieved to hear back from a nice person who would see what he could do when it arrived.
He hooked a record player up to his computer, and made a stab at converting the two tracks to two MP3s, then was kind enough, (leaving just enough time for me to worry that they weren't coming) to send them to me.
With the help of the as always supportive Tom, I would like to present them here as a gift to my fellow Colonial Fleets members. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I enjoy posting here ! :salute:

Have fun !
