Damn Hackers

I know this has nothing to do with Galactica but it just shows how quickly a great thing can turn into nothing. :(


One of the main forums I use is Perth-WRX. Over the Christmas weekend it was continuously getting harder to browse the forums with numerous database errors until finally it completely gave in.
Now, whilst it's sad for the number of users who contribute to the forums, I feel most for the poor guy (Dan) who put so much time and effort into running and maintaining the forums. (I'm sure Tom would know where I'm coming from here)
I can't help but feel anger towards this hacker who has not only succeeded in destroying a great forum with a wealth of information but also having an affect on Dan's business. :(

Thanks guys. It is pretty depressing. I mean, imagine losing these boards :eek:

It's where we arranged all our car cruises, had heaps of articles that members had taken the time to write, how to's ect, loads of video clips of members cars in events, the classifieds...and the most important area for Dan, the section where the local performance shops could advertise specials ect.
For a big WRX enthusiast like myself, it will be sorely missed. :cry:

I'm sorry to hear that. hackers can do alot of damage. We were always lucky in that wasn't a big problem for us. Knock on wood. By seeking peace we tended to avoid the worst nuts. THough there were always those who were unhappy with us. YOu can't please everyone.

Every month I do a 40 MB download of the important stuff. Just incase.
