I think Star Trek has gone down the pan, so I rarely have anything to do with it.

Today I got T3 at a bargain price, only to find out that a sticker had been stuck over the '1 disc edition' comment - and I had wanted the full 2 disc edition.

I remembered hearing a rumour that Star Trek : First Contact was going to be re-released as a special edition 2 disc set, so I decided to look it up as that is one of my favourite sci-fi films...

Whilst doing so I came accross this very interesting picture of John Colicos on the official Star Trek website - the picture shows both his versions of the Klingon character he portrayed. It accompanies an article about the Klingon foreheads...

It may be of interest to some people, so I thought I would pass it on....

Thanks Ernie!! That was great!!! I too will have to wait till after the show airs to find out their nifty rationalization for the "ruffians have ridges" quandary. ;) I want to hear it, but not desperately enough to sit thru Trek's most disappointing incarnation.

Thank you though!! To me, Mr. Colicos was the quintessential Klingon, sneaky and conniving, yet intelligent and with a purpose. (Actually, I have liked nearly every Klingon character that has been cast -- they all have their wonderfully unique qualities -- Jeannie's one-time hubby Michael Ansara, John Shuck of course, and the ever so famous and talented Christopher Plummer, to name a few...)

Happy holidays!!! :)

Maybe Jeannie blinked their ridges away???

This should be interesting because when Worf returned to Klingon and met up a with an ancient Warrior, the anchient warrior also looked like the modern klingons. I can't wait to see what the spin masters do with this one.

As I said in another thread regarding Mr. Calicos. I have seen him in other roles than Sci-Fi, He is a "top Shelf" actor that played the hell out of his roles. I have yet to see him play a role that you didnt believe he was what he said he was. I believe he was an actor that could take a bad, unconvincing script/roll and MAKE it believable. IMHO, He is/was one of hollywoods best kept secrets.

I loved the duality with which the late, great John Colicos played Kor.

In TOS Trek, he was the shrewd, cunning, ruthless villain. A true NEMESIS for Kirk.

In DS9, he was a lovable lush who never turned away from battle. Indeed, Kor made me laugh a hearty Klingon laugh....but he also inspired the warrior spirit.

And seeing the Klingons three together in "Blood Oath"....that was nothing short of inspirational. Kor, Kang, Koloth!

Respectfully,
