Hey folks -

I was cruising Amazon.com and I was checking out the books section for a couple of BSG books for a friend. I found a paperback book that is due for release in March 2005. The oddest thing about the book, is that the author is NOT Richard Hatch...! It's also under a different publisher - Titan Books. I know that Micheleh said that Richard was only doing 2 more books, but it looks like another publisher isn't wasting any time getting more books out. Here's the Amazon.com listing for those that want to take a look:

Battlestar Galactica: The Memory Machine (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/184023945X/qid=1102799394/sr=2-2/ref=pd_ka_b_2_2/103-0570623-9578235)

Here's the editorial review listed on the page:

Before Star Trek: The Next Generation, before Babylon 5 and before bedtime, there was cult TV series Battlestar Galactica, the smash-hit sci-fi show that rocked the spaceways with its legendary stories, memorable villains and awesome hair styles! In a desperate attempt to retrace their steps to Earth, Galactica’s Commander Adama willingly submits himself to the Memory Machine. With it, he hopes to try and remember the co-ordinates for the human race’s mythical home planet he had seen before a Cylon attack destroyed them. But all does not go to plan... Featuring fascinating new background material and a new painted cover by Garry Leach, it’s the chance to relive this spacebound meteor storm of an adventure!

I wonder if this means that Titan books would be interested in manuscript submissions? Steve (Martok), are you paying attention????

Best to all,
Bryan

That is the comic book that was supposed to be released sooner but was pushed back.

To clarify further, this is nothing new, but merely a reissue of the "Memory Machine" storyline of issues #7-13 of the Marvel Comics series from about 1979.

Guys -

Sorry that I jumped the gun on this. The classification of the publication said "Paperback", I immediately thought it was a novel, not a comic book. I should have guessed when I saw that there were 4 names on the cover.

I never read the BSG comic books, as I wasn't really ever into comic books - I do remember peeking at them, but I didn't care for the artwork much. For those that enjoyed them, I hope that you like the new publication very much! It's great to see even more TOS-related material out on the retail shelves in one way or another.

Best,
Bryan

I Was just going through a Box Earlier Today, and Found One of My Surviving Battlestar Galactia Action Figures (Cylon Centorian)... I've Not Seen that Since 1978.

:)

The Blaster Rifle is Long Gone; But the Figure is Still Good as New...

Does Anybody Here Remember the Limited Edition BSG Glasses that Were Available at Taco Plaza (Back in 1978)? Maybe That was a Fast Food Restaurant Located ONLY Here in Texas...

I'm Surprised Someone Hasn't Sold Any On eBay; Seems You Can Pretty Much Find Whatever You're Looking For There...

Guess Everyone Around Here is Gearing Up For the Holidays, and The Start of BSG New Series... Any Day Now... I Know Some Of Us Have Been Downloading & Watching The NEW SERIES... Hehehehe... Guess the Rest of Us Are Just Playing the Waiting Game....

They aren't interested in manuscript submissions because this paperback is just a reissue of an old Marvel Comics storyline from 1979.

Wow....well, thanks for thinking of me on this, Bryan and Shiningstar. :)
Alas, it would seem that Eric speaks truth on this.

Darn. :)

Again though, I am flatterred at your sentiments. Made my day. :)

Respectfully, and with great humility,
Steve (Martok2112)

I just bought the paper-back Rebellion with no real intent on reading it...just sending a message in my own small way. It looks all right on my book self next to the good Galactica books.
