My dear friends,

I have just received terrible news.

A friend of mine, Mike Kirby, with whom I had played in a band in West Virginia, is dead. (Ruled a suicide.) I am terribly rocked to my very soul over this, as I considered him a good friend, and one of the best damn bass players I have ever heard, and had the honor of playing with. We even recorded a few songs together.

A terrible, undescribably terrible loss to me and my friends...as friends, and as musicians.

With all reverence to the memory of an awesome bass player, and friend,

Thank you, both.

I regret I cannot make it back to West Virginia to be there with my friends. I am hoping to be able to talk with one of them very soon about this.

Archangel and Bsg1fan, thank you for your kind words. :)

I have a feeling it's gonna be a rough nite hosting karaoke tonight. :(

Respectfully, and appreciatively,
Martok2112

Steve, I'm sorry for you and for his family. He isn't the one you hoped to get together with again, is he? Part of your old band?

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Steve.

I grieve with thee.

Or perhaps you'd prefer the Klingon cry to Stoval'kor for your friend. ;)

Many, many heartfelt thanks to you all. Many, many , indeed.

Muffit, Yes, there is a kind of special kinship with musicians, especially ones you had a really great time working with. Thank you. :)

Ron ,in answer to your question: no, he was a bass player in a band I was in about two years ago. But, in retrospect, he is a bass player I would not have minded hooking up with again for another quality band. :)

John, yes, I thought about writing a Klingon Battlecry out to Sto'Vo'Kor, warning them : "Beware, a bad arsed bass player is arriving!" :)

Thomas, Pete, and Arlene, thank you so very much for your kind words and sympathies. My freinds who also knew him will be very grateful for your support.

Thank you all, my online family, :rose:

Thank you, WHD. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers, my friend. :)

My dear friends,

I would like to share with you, my friend Phil's response to all your heartfelt well wishes and prayers.

"hey man,

it's always nice when people you don't know send their heartfelt
wishes.
Thanks them from WV.....

It's very surreal......I'm just speachless. I just talked to him a few
days ago.

I'll be in touch,
phil"

So, he would like everyone to know that your prayers, well wishes, and condolences are very appreciated.
Thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart.

Appreciative beyond words,
Martok2112

Thank you, Braxiss and Amberstar.

It was kinda rough working Karaoke tonight, as I was not quite mentally, spiritually, emotionally or otherwise prepared to deal with drunks who sing bad songs really badly, and then badger you when they think that their turn is already up again.

Thank you both for your well wishes and support. :) They mean a lot to me.

With great appreciation,
Martok2112

I have seen your sad news Steve. I am sorry to hear of such sad tidings.
My condolences to you and his family. You will pull through, even if you have to listen to some awful singing at work in the mean time!
All the best! :salute:
