If you've watched SG-Atlantis and want to share an opinion, this might be the most thorough survey you've ever seen. (I don't think you get that part unless you say you've seen SG-A)

They also ask about Skiffy's movies at the end. For me, it was worth the survey to say my piece on those. ;)

I hope they have one of these for the upcoming so-called "Battlestar Galactica" series on the Sci Fi Channel.

:P:

It would be lovely if they would consider fan input, once the fans have seen some of it. Especially because the way this one was set up you got to rate 4 main characters of SG-1.

Some solid constructive criticism could be good for the show if the TNS reviews that have been posted online are any indication.

there's something in the 2nd ep. that I've seen several people say they aren't buying as a plot device: it would be good for the producers to know stuff like that, even though the entire 13 eps are "in the can" except for FX.

How can you "rate" the four main characters of SG-1?

Except for the valid points expressed on Pierre Bernard "Recliner of Rage" the whole team has to be concidered.
Would Kirk have survived without Spock to keep him from getting killed by hostil aliens? Or McCoy to give him his space-penecillin after consorting with Orion slave women?
Or without Scottie to make ship go faster? Nay, I say! Nay!

I'd only seen 1 ep, so I made it very clear I was going on that only, wherever I could indicate it. 2 of the characters I liked straightaway, the other too I just couldn't remember an impression of so I said "fair" (none of them were unappealing) Then it asked as a fill in "why do you think X is only fair?" and I said the other two characters I'd rated higher I just remembered as having strong characters, but it was only after 1 ep.

Just FYI:

This "survey" may be only a sample/demo or test. Most legitimate survey companies, like Harris Polls (which I participate in), require an I.D. and password (which the company supplies/generates) to prevent or minimize bogus data/opinions.

However, I did fill it out just in case it is legit.

 ;) :duck: :salute:

Most of them were the "monster of the week movies" that have been produced on the side by 3 of SciFi's own programming gurus. (A lot of the titles were mentioned in Wired magazine's article on that little group). They do something like 20 of them per year with scrimpy budgets using independent small film companies. Deliberately making B-movies. Which supposedly get good ratings.

One of my comments early on was Horror isn't SciFi (I didn't have anything negative to say about SG-1, so I figured a comment box means someone will read it. ;) Then those movie titles came up at the end and I just howled! Too ironic and funny. They deserved the comments I gave them

Tom -

I agree with you there. I put in my survey, that she was basically functioning as the "bimbo factor" and the "7 of 9 Synrdrome". I went on to point out that SG-1 got along fine with intelligent female characters that didn't wear tight clothing, nor trade on their looks to lure in an audience. I also told them that I would like to see more of Carson Beckett - I really enjoy his character and think that he and Rodney McKay would play off of each other beautifully. I still don't understand why his character was so prominent in a few of the opening episodes, but then relegated to a "recurring character" status.

Best,
Bryan

I'm totally in tune with ya!

I thought Dr Beckett was a great charcater reminiscent of Scotty! I would like to see more.

I also gave a exceptional mark to Dr Weir. And it asked me why. I had to respond moslty cause on SG1 she was a great character. Her negotiating with the System Lords were pretty witty and had a nice edge to her. But sadly she is mostly watching the men do the action now.

Rated all the characters as fair or above, but did comment that some were kinda boring. I asked 'em to include more grit and action in the series, and less "Primitive People of the Week Menaced by the Wraith."

I did the survey, too. Told them that I thought Dr. Weir the character was good, well written but the actress didn't seem to fit the role. Also made my complaints about Teyla (not fitting with the team, being anacronistic--automatic weapons in episode 1, come on! etc.)
