OMG Aitch, I am in AWE :)

Your career reads like a list of all my favorite movies! Oliver stunned me when I was a child, I still love it to this day. I see you've done a lot of Dicken's works, too cool!! First Knight, Outland, The Prisoner, yikes! If I mentioned every film you've done that I love, this post would be WAY too long!!!

I am gonna start looking more carefully at my DVDs so I can be sure to see you!!

WELCOME!!!

Affectionately,

Hello everyone,,(I've only just found this thread)

It's funny what life throws at you, one day I was selling timber in a timber yard
and the next day i'm an extra on Roger Moore's ''The Saint'' in 1966,,

I was told it was two days work but I stayed in films and tv for the next 32 years.
I got to work with the cream of actors and if asked would I do it all again,
I'd say ''You bet I would''

See some credits on IMDB or click onto web page,,

Morning all

I know this might sound vain but when we did Star Wars in 1977 (see web 1977)
I tried to get off the show because I'd just finished a few weeks on Doctor Who and didn't want to get into space gear again,
(Little did I know how big Star Wars would be)

When I think back now I used to get up in the mornings and travel to some studios to play at ''Cops and Robbers'' or something then travel back home for my dinner with the wife and 3 kids,,
(What a silly way to get a living),,(But I'm glad I did it)

I'm voting for Kerry myself. Not really comfortable with that choice. But then I really couldn't bare it if the US kept on the course it has been on post Afghanistan (which was done right for the most part).

Oliver Reed, was a grat actor I really liked him a lot :
the first film i say him in was "The League of Gentlemen (1960) before my time but I like films form that period.

then: Oliver! (1968) .... Bill Sikes
then: The Assassination Bureau (1969)
then: Hannibal Brooks (1969)
then: The Three Musketeers (1973)

his last fime was in Gladiator (2000) with Russell Crowe,
Oliver died while making it.

Oliver was also quite the hellriser, mad to be around and lived in the south of Ireland, and if some of the stories were true, I wish I was there :D

I wondered. I'd see someone who looked like he could have been you, but then he'd start dancing or something, and I finally decided you must have been one of the guys at the races who always had their backs to the camera or something.

Actually, it had been so long since I'd seen the movie (never owned it on tape) that I forgot it began with a black screen, and thought I'd gotten a defective DVD. I was digging for the reciept when the picture came on.

Cool link.
I've always loved the scene in American werewolf in Londom where da wolf terrorises Picadillly Circus. Neat to hear some insight into its making (I'm a sucker for that stuff) All you standins and extras looked like the real deal and the fx were really cool, unlike some productions where the number of people standiung around in a major city is decidedly thin and/or they are obviously watching the film crew!.

So real, in fact, anyone would think the extras actually lived there or something.. :) :) ;)

Hi Lara,
I wasn't a very nice man when I played this guy in an episode of BBCs Juliet Bravo. See year 1982 on my web.

I have recently gotten in touch with Aitch again after a few years, here is a message, I hope he will pop back here someday

also he has a book out on his life as a support (extra) player in some of the best TV shows and Films made in England,, Remember Star Wars, Space1999, Blakes7 and more

Hi Everyone, The news is that I have recently suffered a stroke but I am slowly getting better and am working hard every day to achieve my recovery. Thank you all so much for your messages of support, they are much appreciated. Over one year now and now better......Aitch,,

Gerard,

Thanks for the update on Aitch.

Sorry to hear about the stroke but, very encouraged to hear that he is doing so well in his recovery.

If you're in contact with him again, please convey our best wishes for his continued recovery. Also, please let him know that is missed very much and we look forward to him visiting whenever it's feasible for him.

Thanks again.

Pete

I have passed on our best to him and sadly I also learned he lost his wife Mary Fielder in 2010.

I have also suggested he is welcome to say hello to us all here..

Give him all of our best. Full recovery comes first, but hope he is able to stop by and say hello soon :)

Thought it might be appropriate to fish out Aitch's site link for those who need a reminder. Has a link to buying the book, too.

And I stand by my earlier quote.. Only to add they don't make 'em like they used to...

Nice site.. I like the narrative format. Much more interesting (and real) than 'stars' guff!!
You're a bl**dy legend, Aitch, there's no doubt about you!!

Cheers,
Lara

Folks,

After reading another post, by John Larroque, I started thinking about those who are still with us. I did a little research and found out that we lost "Aitch" in 2021. According to IMDB, the cause of death was "old age".

:(

Here's 2 links - one to Wikipedia and the other to IMDB --
