Spectacled bears eat both vegetables and meat but children tend not to be on their menu
How comforting! :wtf: Just cause a spectacled bear never told the waiter, "I'll have an 8 year old school girl cooked medium rare, my usual, please..." I wouldn't put much faith in that claim if the bear was heading for my children.

He did say, however, that he was "alarmed at how some fathers were too busy filming the bear to check where their children were".
Yeah! What were they thinking? "I'll send this to 'America's Funniest Home Videos'! He's heading for my baby...I'll never get a video this good for as long as I live! This couldn't get more realistic if I'd planned it! Smile Junior....no, don't cry, smile for the camera, the bear isn't going to eat you, just smile for daddy!"

As someone who has lived in rural areas where bears are fairly plentiful, I can honestly say that bears attacking humans are extremely rare. Unless it is sick or protecting it's cubs, it will almost always ignore you (in every sense of the term) or run away if you yell at it. Most of the recorded bear attacks are a result of retarded humans who think a wild bear is as gentle as Winnie the Pooh and go right up to it, or feed it, etc. They are the ones that are asking for trouble.

Quite plentiful, are they? Do they tip well in restuarants, and drive on the correct side of the road and follow all posted speed limit sings? I didn't think so, which proves how dangerous bears can be.

:wtf: not tipping well is a sign of being dangerous??? :D

Thank god , I do the 10-25% thing *relief* :D

I always tip 18% unless the wait person was rude, but I do speed. And, one of my online friends has joked with me for a year that I am a bear (she finds these pics of bears doing wierd things and says "Hey it's Tovor!").

Some of the most notorious serial killers were lousy tippers. And Saddam Hussein never, ever tipped. What does that tell you?

"Tovor" spelled backwards is "Rotov"! Did you know that????

More importantly, did you care??? :D

The 14th Colony
August 31st, 2004, 05:52 PM
Actually, it's "rovot", and I did care for an important reason.

The 14th Colony
August 31st, 2004, 05:53 PM
You're probably waiting for me to tell you the reason.

When I was a kid and I began writing the vast, epic "PGW" saga, which even now remains unfinished (it's a 9 book sci-fi series), I wanted to have robots on another planet sound different from our world. So I called them "rovots". Then I concieved of a villain who was a giant rovot (10 feet tall) with the brain of a human being, ala Frankentien's monster, and since he was a man but still physically a rovot, I named him Tovor. In the PGW series, Tovor is what Darth Vader is to Star Wars. So there you have it. ;)

Funny thing is, the friend who always calls me a bear is a really bad speller and spells everrrrrrrrything wrong, or just nearly. And she's Canadian too! Go figure! :D

heh heh, I kid. I'm a kidder. No, she is Canadian, and a bad speller, but you only spelled one word wrong.

Speaking from a waitress point of view I like hearing how generous you both are! :D ;) I love to dote on my customers but it is seldom acknowledged!:(

Wanna know my tip tactic? No need to try to calculate 18% of the total bill. Sales tax is 6%, so I just give a tip of 3 times the sales tax.

usually my hubby and I will leave a buck or two for a tip!

Where my family lives I know that there is bears. My grandparents had to lock their trash up in a shed and the morning garbage was collected they had to put it out in garbage cans that the lids were locked down by handles.

My dear shiningstar, Kalashnikov was Russian and as Archangel brought up, was the inventor of the AK-47. The Russians also invented vodka. So when I said that they were drunk and rushin', think vodka and Russian, heh. :D
