Hi all , I saw this news article about Mark Hamill today ..

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has attacked the sci-fi franchise's mastermind George Lucas for ignoring him, describing the director as a "sad" man who "just doesn't get it".

Hamill gained worldwide fame as Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy - released between 1977 and 1983.

But while Hamill's co-stars, including Harrison Ford, went on to become superstars, he appeared in a string of flops.

And the 52-year-old blames his withering career on Lucas' decision not to cast him in any of his other movies.

Hamill said: "George is very unemotional. He is not someone who says, 'Hey, let's get together and have a barbecue to salute the old talent'. I never hear from any of them.

"I loved all those people, but have not seen them in years. George could have made it happen, if he wanted to."

And Hamill isn't a fan of Lucas' current Star Wars prequels either - of which The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones have so far been released.

He blasts: "My message to him is, 'Get out more, pal. You are surrounded by an army of sycophants who say that, even when you blow your nose, you are brilliant.'

"How sad is that? It's not as if he's making Ten Commandments, Part Two.

"Everything in his new Star Wars movies seems so important now. Ours were much funnier. I am not speaking out of school here, but he just doesn't get it. He thinks some of this new stuff is funny."

Wow! Where did that come from? Where was the article? I have never been a big fan of George Lucas, but this seems a bit harsh...

It's all a fake!!!! Or at least some kind of attempt to make Mark Hamill look bad!!!!!

I just found this over at theforce.net:

"Mark could not disagree more with the reported news. In the hours and hours I have spent with him, Mark has not said one disparaging word against George Lucas, Lucasfilm or Star Wars. He has not even hinted it. Mark told me tonight, he believes this news stems from a failed attempt by a gossip paper to get him in an unfriendly interview in 1997. Mark does say he has said the movies he did were funnier than the new ones, but I think we'd all agree with that. Mark has a great life, a great family, and in the last year has been going non-stop with exciting and new adventures in his career. We knew, and Mark pointed out, how much fun he had earlier this year working on the Original Trilogy DVD with Lucasfilm, spending far more time on it than they requested, and all may recall his online chat at Starwars.com he did as well. These are not the things a man unhappy with how Star Wars has treated him would do. Mark asked me to pass on that he has tried to avoid commenting on news like this in the past, as giving it attention normally does more harm than good. You could not find a man more sincere in his desire to not make waves, but rather would concentrate on the good that came from the movies and what is yet to come in his career. "

I actually confirmed with some 501st friends that went to Empire Fan Fest where Hamill was just at recently and they said that he had nothing but good things to say about Lucas. So again, that is straight from Hamill himself....

Also keep in mind that Mark's son was in Episode I as a royal naboo guard. So if Lucas ruined his career, I don't think he would let his son be in the movie....

Just another thought...
