In the CFF's ongoing negotiations with Daily Variety (which offers its heartiest congratulations on our success), a representative of the magazine has made an offer that it is impossible for the management of the CFF to ignore. That offer is as follows:

"Normally a full page 4 Color is over $11,000..but since I know you are on a budget I would be willing to give you a full page, 4 color rate of $7,000!!!"

Since Daily Variety is a "daily," we have much more flexibility, and the magazine has given us up to one week prior to the artwork deadline (14 September 2004) to upgrade from a black and white ad to a full color ad.

No other fan organization has ever taken out a full color ad in support of their cause. This feat is, however, now within our grasp.

Therefore, the Colonial Fan Force Campaign has been relaunched, effective immediately, with the goal of raising an additional $2,000 over the next 60 days. We raised $10,000 in 3 months, I firmly believe we can raise another $2,000 in 2 months.

Spread the word far and wide! We have already made Battlestar Galactica history, now let's make fan history!

We can do this.

Go to http://www.colonialfanforce.org click on the Paypal link, and make your donation today. If you missed out the first time, now is your chance to make a difference! Or, if you prefer, you can mail your check or money order to one of the addresses listed on the CFF home page.

The Variety offer is an unexpected gift, but a gift nonetheless... now let's take the Battlestar Galactica revival effort where no revival effort has gone before... full color!

What a great offer, full color! That should get some attention!

I'll spread the word :)

This gives new meaning to the Postathon that's coming up on Monday night, midnight, Eastern time. And a double purpose. While you're sharing why you liked the original and it's cast, while you're rhapsodizing about the movie you want Larson to make, slip over to the CFF site and make a donation. Let's have the money raised by the time the Postathon ends.

We can do it.

That's /amazing/ Cmdr! I remember 20 years ago a 4 color full page cost $5,000 in most publications - for $7,000 today, that's just incredible!

Let's go for it!!!

Hey Tag, I've been kinda lagging regarding to CF lately. But if Muffit approves, maybe we should add one of those titles to you like me and Muffit and other website owners have?

I'm not big on titles, Thomas... but, whatever you and Muffit wish to do. I'm trying to keep up on as many boards as I can... especially now that we're actively raising money again!

Hi,

Can I ask what happened to the idea of the re-scheduled Laurette Spang chat ?

If she is still willing, then this could be a great chance to bring attention to the relaunched campaign ?

Ernie... the Laurette chat is still planned. We're still working on a final date. The good news is that Stu Phillips has agreed to a chat, which will hopefully be on the same night as the Laurette chat. Stay tuned, we'll be making an announcement as soon as we know more.

Thomas and Muffit: please check your email.
