Describe a scene you would like to see in a continuation...

Now I have been hearing this thing over and over again....Dont bring back muffit, no muffit please, blah de blah blah.

I happen to like Muffit. I just think he needs a 'makeover'.
Actually the scene I would like to see in a continuation is a sequence where a big pack of armored, gun toting Muffits saves the day; ripping into a squad of Cylons just as they are about to execute civilians. A cavalry charge at the eleventh hour which nobody expects! Yeah go muffits!
( the old muffit should make an appearance too!)
Check out these pics of Aimee from Red Planet for an idea about how these Muffits should look!

A reunion, of sorts, between Apollo and Serina.

Darth? You need not elaborate. But if you do, you better post it at Stallion! :)

Wow, there are lots of scenes I'd like to see in a continuation.

But first I'd like to see faster moving Centurions, and an Imperious Leader that can actually come down from his high chair and move about.

Sorry, Io. I haven't really thought it completely through. Although, any appearance by Jane Seymour, in the movie, would put a HUGE smile on my face.

:D

(Darth needs to take his medication...he's forgetting that the robots glowed a few months back!)

Instead of an Apollo-Serina scene I would much prefer a scene that establishes Apollo and Sheba as being sealed.

Ioraptor

Another scene I would like to see is something that I have been dreaming about.
Literally, like when I am asleep... :)

I dream that the Galactica has lured four baseships into a region where a star is in the process of being sucked into a black hole. In my dreams these huge ships are attempting to dodge HUGE chunks of stellar matter and Vipers are zooming in and out of the smaller pieces as they sneak up on the baseships.
In the dream, one baseship gets sucked into the event horizon and implodes.
Then I wake up.
Dammit.

I would like to see a continuation open on the bridge of the Galactica. It is a red alert the Cylons have found the fleet....... we see every bridge officer and crewmen are going about their duties. Then the camera stops on Richard Hatch, (he is now Comander Apollo) as he orders "Launch all Vipers!"

Then we get to see our old heros along with new younger warriors dance once again their vipers. Engaged in a heated battle with the cylons, blowing the pogees out of them. Mind you the battle isn't easy ......the cylon raiders are of a new technology, faster and more deadly!

This is an edge of your seat epic battle........ Well, at least in my mind it is :)

A scene that I would like to see:

A reunion, of sorts, between Apollo and Serina.

Pete -

I agree with you - Apollo & Serina had such a short but deep relationship. Jane Seymour's dying scene in LPTG was one of the first few TV scenes to get to me on an emotional level where it showed. I think that seeing them together would be a very powerful scene for a lot of BSG fans. I know that some action scene would be kind of cool to come up with, but a character-driven scene would be much more meaningful and fun to talk about later. Hey, Jane did say she would do it if they wrote it in for her.....!

Lol... that reminds me of a bit I wrote for a humorous fanfic awhile back...

Count Faultar, fallen Lord of Noboll, destroyer of human civilization, cheater at cards, evader of taxes, and all-around really unpleasant person, glared out into the murky darkness from the majestic heights of his command chair aboard the Nylon 3rdbasestar. Suddenly, he barked a
harsh command. "Loosiner!"

"Byyourcommandsir!"

"Answer me one question. Why is this bloody chair so high? Are you trying to make sure I don't get away? What if I have to perform a human function?"

"Byyourcommandsir, I'll have it taken out and truncated."

I wrote it, awhile back, a couple of scenes, anyway. I'll trot ti out again for all the new folks who could use a snicker.

Battlescar Attactica- Episode 1: Moore for your money!

In our last episode(*), the Attactica became aware of an insidious menace which threatened to wipe out the entire cast and crew, and destroy forever the noble legacy of mankind's struggle to remain alive against all odds, including corporate takeovers and Nielsen ratings. Was
it the evil Nylon Empire? No, not this time. This was far more sinister.....

*****

The Battlescar Attactica floats majestically against the backdrop of endless space. Now watch... we pan in to the command center of the mighty vessel, to see their noble leader, Commander Adrama. Focus...

Commander Adrama paces restlessly across the confines of the cramped bridge. Suddenly, he whirls to face his CO. "Tighdye!"

"Yes, Commander!"

"Answer me one question... why is it that on a ship the size of a small city, I have to pace the confines of a cramped bridge? I won't have it! Get those consoles out of here before the next duty!"

"Yessir, I'll have them taken out and shot! Ah... Commander?"

"What is it? Make it fast, I have to be at a meeting of the Council of Elderberries."

"Sir, the partol we sent out to investigate the disturbance in the Viveldi sector has not returned!"

Adrama scowls at the stoic CO. "Who was in that partrol anyway?"

"Captain Apillow, and Lieutenants Fastbuck and Bummer."

Adrama scowls again. "Answer me another question. Why is it that on a ship the size of a small city, with fifty Squatrons of Wipers, the same three warriors go on all the missions? What do we pay these people for? Get rid of all these lazy no-flyers!"

"Yessir, I'll have them taken out and decommissioned! But first, should we send out a search party?"

"Have you used the long range scanner to check for any C.C.N.P.?(**)

"Yessir, there's nothing out there but space debris and some old newspapers."

Adrama sighs. "Very well. Send out Happy and Limabean. I have to address the council, and see if I can use my underwhelming authority as military commander to prevent the civilian leader, Sire Yogi, from his mad plan to convert all of our Bolonial Wipers into Yellow Galacticabs."

"Yessir!"

"And cancel our subscription to the Bolonial News, I'm tired of having to get it down off the bulkhead."

*****

Will our missing warriors return? Will the fleet be refitted with meters? Will Adrama ever get his paper? Tune in for our next episode,
"The Hammar Virus!"

Battlescar Attactica- episode 2: Things are Tough All Over (*So I lied, sue me. -Ed. ;D )

*****

"Well, alright, then. So report. How are our latest ineffectually-menacing-while-not-seriously-damaging- despite-our-overwhelming-superiority-of-numbers
tactics coming?"

"Actually, we have been concentrating on a different menace than the Colonical fleet lately."

"What?!? Don't tell me the I.G.R.S. found me again!"

"No, one of our patrols disappeared in the Viveldi sector. When the ship was recovered, the Denturion was alive, but..."

"But what?"

"Well... see for yourself."

Loosiner steps aside as a Nylon trooper appraches. Faultar powers down his chair, peering through the gloom.

"Loosiner, *what* is the matter with this Denturion?"

Loosiner sighs. "We believe its command structures have been altered."

"Those aren't the only structures that have been altered! Wa-hey!"

The Denturion speaks. "I am Number 36D. You will be adulterated."

Holding it's arms out, the Denturon advances, clasping the shocked Faultar to its, well okay, breast. "You are not a bad man. I will change you."

Faultar struggles madly in the thing's steely embrace. "Loosiner! Help! Get this thing off me!"

Loosiner calmly draws his sidearm, and adjusts the dial from 'stun' to 'jiffypop'. He calmly lazers the manic Nylonette until it's metal uniform begins to deform and swell. Then, with a thunderous roar, it explodes, showering the hapless Faultar with fluffy white kernels.

Trembling, Faultar hauls himself out from under the salty mass. "Loosiner, this means war!"

"Byyourcommandsir! Shall we attack the fleet again sir?"

"No Loosiner, I mean this means WAR! Get me Adrama on the comfone! You may not believe this, Loosiner, but there are worse things in the universe than the human menace!"

Loosiner's faceplate blinks in shock. "You don't mean..." His voice trails of in dread.

"Exactly." Faultar's expression is grim. "The Write Beings."

***

Will this mean the end of the war between the human fleet and the Nylon Empire? Will they lay aside their differences to face a common enemy? Will Faultar be able to get back in his chair? Stay tuned for....

..Battlescar Attactica Episode 3: The Schtick Bay Scenes!

***

The lost have been found- Captain Apilllow returned in a commandeered Nylon delivery shuttle, after having heroically rescued Fastbuck and Bummer from the evil clutches of the Nylon Border Patrol. We find the unconscious warriors at death's door in Schtickbay, while Apillow is mysteriously absent....

Adrama and Tighdye rush into Schtickbay to confront a scene of horror- ghastly organs and things best left undescribed strewn about in plain view. Adrama confronts this spectacle in shock.

"Doctor Salicylic! How many times do I have to tell you no eating in schickbay!" He shudders. "I *hate* menudo."

The medic smoothly interposes himself between the smoldering Commander and his lunch. "Of course, Commander. I'll have it taken out and tuppered. I take it you are here about the two warriors..."

"Exactly! Spill it, Doctor. How are they?"

"Well, their vitals are stable, they are both reading with proper levels of habeus corpus, compost mentis, ad sic horum...

"Knock it of, Salicylic." He ignores the wizened medic's reproachful expression at the interruption. "I bet you make half of that up. Just tell me what the problem is."

"Uh, sir... their weapons were confiscated."

"Is that all? Issue them new blasters and deduct it from their pay."

"Uh, no, sir... you don't understand... their WEAPONS were CONFISCATED."

"I heard you the first time, Salicylic, and I'd appreciate if you would not waggle your eyebrows at me on duty. It gives the wrong impression."

Dr. Salicylic screws up aforementioned brows in frustration, pausing for some time, before sighing. "I think you'd better look at these
mediscans, sir."

"Dammit, Salicylic, I'm a commander, not a HOLY PEAS AND CARROTS, THEY CONFISCATED THEIR WEAPONS!!!"

Salicylic purses hs lips ruefully. "Yes, sir, I'm afraid so."

"By the Lords of Noboll, this means war! Arm the warriors! Gas up the Wipers! We won't rest until we have recovered the Jewels of the Colonies! Tighdye!!"

"Yessir!"

"Tell my son, Captain Apillow, to form a rescue squatron!"

"Ah... there may be a slight difficulty with that, sir."

"What do you mean, difficulty?"

"Sir, I last saw Captain Apillow sulking around the rec. deck, playing cards, getting drunk, and threatening to run away with the Bolonial Circus."

Adrama stares at his CO in stunned amazement. "Tighdye, I think we have a problem."

"Sir!" A medtech barks. "We have a transmission from the bridge! There is an incoming message from the 3rd Basestar! It's..... Faultar!"

A stunned silence falls over the schtickbay. Col. Tighdye looks at his old comrade and chief gravely. "Adrama, *now* we have a problem."

***

As we leave the command of the Attactica horrified at the developments in Schtickbay, puzzled over the behavior of Apillow, and stunned at the transmission from Faultar, we can't help but wonder- who is writing this drivel, anyway? Stay tuned!

Very Funny Michele !!!

The scene I would like to see if a small(ish) spaceship saves several vipers from the cylons, and escorts then back to the Galactica. The spaceship is invited onboard. Apollo stands to greet the brave person who saved the vipers.

A cylon exits the craft and announces...."Presenting the imperious leader....Starbuck !"

If that is how Starbuck returns to the fleet, it would be a fantastic return. (The Cylon is CY of course...)

OK, I want Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer and Sheba in it.

Because I'm not satisfied with 1 movie and because I want Glen to have his Pegasus flick, I want the cliffhanger to be Sheba on Fleet Commline Alpha calling from the Pegasus. The Pegasus had been lost, with Sheba at it's helm yahrens earlier, when they were making a hyperspace jump of a Galactican sort, possibly an equipment malfunction or battle damaged equipment altering Pegasus' course so they were lost. Movie 2 is the quest for the Pegasus. :)

Tigh brakes the silance"He was the best of us..he led us with his head but also his heart" Tighs voice fails quicky replaced by Starbucks"He was as a father to me...He smile weakly before going on"He is the only Commander who put up with me and my wild days when no other Commander would have me".
All this time Apollo and Athena say nothing Apollo stand in the Command uniform
that had long since replaced his combats slowly looking down at the uniform as if seening it for the first time,.. the full empact of the last 10 yahrens since he transfered to the bridge first under Adama. then when Adama retired from command to be the President full time Tigh took command but he no longer wish for command as Adama he was tired. Apollo found he was more and more placed
in full command which he has handled with ease, But his Father was always there "not now".
Tigh"What?
Apollo"It nothing!...It just that I thought he would stay" his voice trailing off slowly Athena put he hand around he's shoulders tears freely flowing down her cheeks "It was quick he was asleep".she then can no longer hold back the grief any longer crying she falls to her fathers side and burys her head into his chest that stopped moving a few microns earler.
Tigh " Command is yours Apollo the people know Adama is dead.. you must make
announcement to the fleet" he said placing his hand on Apollo's arm the pain of loss in his eyes cutting off the angry responce from Apollo. he was in pain and the people of the fleet had no right to disturb them now but deep down Apollo knew Tigh was right.
"Yes, Yes quite correct" sounding almost like his father getting quick looks of surprise from his friend's "we will inform the fleet". slowly bending to kiss his father on his forhead for the last time then his sister who he holds for a moment longer.. he then turns to Cassy who had just joined Starbuck" Cassy will you make preperations for our Father funeral rites please....and leave Athena to remain here at his side".
Then keeping his back straight and face expressionless he walk out from his father room only once looking quickly at Starbuck touched by what he had said Starbuck is like a brother replacing the one he lost all those yahrens ago.
Fade: Vipers
Boxey's Blue Squadron have inflected a lot of damage on the Cylons but it's not all on the Cylon side some of he's squad is nothing more than dust now, growling into his helmet mike orders a withdral from battle the Vipers turbo boost out of danger and are once again head toward the last Battlestar..
Boxey judging the Cylon numbers are now low enough for the Fleet defances
to handle he calls for help.

Well if I was putting together a Continuation from these posts there would be;

An opening sequence with Potemkins viper squadron fighting Cylons, while back at the fleet a funeral is held for Adama.
Later.... Comander Tigh has a horrible dream... the fleets population transformed into humanoid Cylons with glowing spines (courtesy of Darth Marley).
At the same time Apollo dreams of Serena, a dream were she tells him its okay to love Sheba and get on with his life ( ala Gemini ).

There would be a climatic battle between the Galactica and four baseships at the event horizon of a black hole.

Durring the battle there would be tense humor between the command staff (thanks Micheleh)......
With an eleventh hour charge of Muffits saving hostages.....
and Pegasus commanded by Starbuck flying in at the end to strike the final blow against the baseships and save the day! (as per Jewels and ernie)

Oh....and in the end.... the sealing of Sheba and Apollo in a grand ceremony ( thanks Eric Paddon).

Epilogue: while the ceremony and party proceed, two children slip away to the Dome........where they watch a strange transmission. A tiny robot traverses a burnt orange desert. A tiny American flag on its flank.

Final scene:

After a climatic battle a heavily damaged Galactica comes into a new star system. Commander Tigh, Colonel Apollo, and Captain Sheba are on the bridge. Looking out the positive shield you see a shining blue planet that by the shape of the continents is obviously Earth to the viewer.

Colonel Apollo says to Commander Tigh, "I wonder if our long journey is finally coming to an end."

Commander Tigh responds, "I don't know if this is the end or just a new beginning."

The Galactica theme music starts and the camara shows a scene of the rag tag fleet silhouetted against Earth.

Deleted Final scene on the DVD:

After the previous scene a transmission from Earth is heard,"Battlestar Galactica this is the Earth Space Defense Command please respond."

Colonel Apollo looks at Commander Tigh and says, "How do they know we are the Battlestar Galactica?"

Commander Tigh says, "I don't know but I think we better respond and see what kind of welcome we get."

Again we hear, "Battlestar Galactica this is the Earth Space Defense Command please respond."

Commander Tigh responds, "This is Commander Tigh from the Battlestar Galactica representing the 12 colonies of Kobol."

Immediately we hear a familiar voice, "This is Commander Caine, Colonial Liason to the Earth Space Defence Command. Welcome to Earth. We have a lot to talk about. What took you so long?"

With that the camara pans to Sheba's face. A tear wells up and then rolls down her cheek. The Galactica theme music starts. The camara fades out to the scene of the fleet silhouetted against the Earth.

The scene I'd like to see happens rights at the end, the Galactica and the rag tag fleet appear in normal space but the Galactica is trailing debris from being damaged in the final attack of the Cylons.

Aboard the Galactica, the surviving crew, Apollo, Starbuck, Sheba, Troy and Dillon etc grip the handrails on the bridge as the ships makes creaking noises.

Apollo asks Rigel if there's any sign of Cylon pursuit or transmissions - anything. She replies in the negative as a moon passes the observation window.

Then you see the fleet from space as it approaches a serene and beautiful ble-green planet covered with white clouds. Lights rise up from its surface and head towards the fleet.

Rigel says she's getting lots of transmission on gamma channel and Apollo tells her to pipe them onto the bridge.

There are lots of snippets of various music and dialogue.

Rigel reports a small fleet of ships are approaching and a clear message is coming through.

Apollo tells her to relay it.

A voices states: "Welcome travellers, I bring you greetings from the planet Earth!"

The crew of the Galactica look at each other in silence then Starbuck lights a fumarello and says: "Well what d'ya know?!"

Then everybody laughs and cheers and hugs each other.

From space the Earth ships approach the Galactica and one breaks away and enters the alpha landing bay.

The end.

Would you like to see a scene with Starbuck married with Athena or Cassiopeia with children.. or without or not married at all both ladys have moved on and are with other people.. and while on the surface he is the same Starbuck without a care in the world, but deep down is himself tired and see's he has missed out on alot.
he is a lot older and has a lot more Responsibility as a wing Commander or something like that. we would only get to see this side of Starbuck when he is alone or specking with Apollo.

It seemed that by the end of TOS that Starbuck and Cassie were a permanent item. In a continuation I would like to see them sealed. If it is a 20 plus year continuation I would like to see them with a child who is a young Lieutenant.

If the continuation is in the near future of TOS I would like to see a subplot of a developing love between Omega and Athena. Omega was never really developed as a character in TOS. Getting to know him would be a good thing. If the continuation is 20 plus years after TOS make Omega and Athena husband and wife with a 20 year old child also.

If you want to bring Starbuck and Athena together in a 20 plus year continuation do it indirectly through their children. Have the young son of Athena falling in love with the young daughter of Starbuck and Cassie. It would put things in their proper place. If you said that Cassie and Omega died in an earlier mission leaving their respective spouses widowed  , seeing an older Starbuck and Athena at the wedding reception of their and each others child would be an ironic touch of what is, is not, and what might have been.

From a realistic standpoint, in terms of building on what was established by the end of the series, a continuation set 25 yahrens later (which I assume is what would have to be done in order to realistically have original cast members) should IMO deal with character relationships.

1. Apollo-Sheba. I've already mentioned my preference for seeing them sealed already by this point, and not have Sheba off on a reappeared Pegasus or something like that. What was so great about "Hand Of God" was how you finally saw the first breakthrough between them and I always took for granted the idea that after that episode the momentum really picked up in their relationship toward a fairly rapid sealing no later than a yahren or so after the original series. If Apollo is the Commander of the Galactica, then have Sheba as executive officer in Tigh's old role (Tigh should be Council President). Apollo doesn't have to be the one haunted by Serina's memory any longer, but maybe the ideal way to have Serina appear is to a grown Boxey who perhaps has never accepted a stepmother in his life. Maybe Boxey is an indifferent moody pilot who never branches out with people and it's an appearance from his mother that finally sets him straight regarding his relationships with family and others.

2. Starbuck-Cassiopeia. The two of them had to have gotten together since this was more developed than any other relationship by the end of the series. Did it last though? If Cassiopeia were unable to be in a continuation story, then it could be covered in dialogue about her being dead, or Starbuck might say at one point how things never worked out for the long haul (it might even be interesting to have had them married and then divorced because ultimately Starbuck couldn't completely change his ways). But I'd much prefer seeing them together after all these yahrens, the same way with Apollo-Sheba.

3. Tigh. Make him Council President.

4. Boomer. Have him retired from flying because of some injury and give him Wilker's job since "Hand Of God" established him as capable fo moving into that position. Maybe make him the father of a lead character from the next generation ranks who learned her flying skills from him and Starbuck (I keep thinking Halle Berry).

5. Boxey. See 1. Make him a pilot with an attitude problem.

6. Athena. Difficult. I'd say reluctantly that if any original series character is expendable, it's probably her. I wouldn't pair her with Omega, since I always saw Omega and Rigel eventually gravitating toward each other.

7. Baltar. Much as this might pain some people, I think he is the only character for which strong consideration should be given to recasting in a legitimate continuation project. There are still interesting story concepts to do with the character and so long as you have the original cast members in their roles elsewhere I think we can accept recasting here (Anthony Zerbe, Jeremy Irons, Timothy Dalton perhaps).

As for the storyline itself, I think the best continuation one ultimately should involve a principal focus on the "next generation" characters with the original cast members in a supporting role (ranging from major supporting roles to a few scene cameos). Ultimately, a continuation project on the big screen, as opposed to the small screen, has to show some broader appeal to those out there who aren't familiar with the nuances of Galactica. I think a lot of the character stuff above that the fans want to see in terms of wrapping up loose ends from the series can be covered in a few lines of dialogue and establishing situations that make it clear how things happened without requiring lengthy explanations.

And the ending should not be a cliffhangar necessitating a sequel. It should be done in a way that leaves it open for a new movie, but in the event none happens we'll at least be left with a satisfactory finish.

I am with you 100% here! If another Galactica movie is made there is definitely a good chance it will be the last. NO CLIFFHANGER! It is for that reason if Earth isn't the focal point of the show like in Dark Exodus it needs to be the ending. :salute:

There need to be enough loose ends at the end of the movie to build a next movie out of if it proves as popular as we think it will.

Boxey goes missing and his fate is unknown. Something like that.

And there always needs to be the Cylon threat not far behind.

Let's not close the door to a second BSG movie before the first one is made. ;)

It's the first one that's tough, sequels are easy as the groundwork's already been laid. Here's to the first and many more! :salute:

Assuming it's going to be a big runaway hit and deciding you should let something major hang at the end of the film is IMO a surefire prescription for disaster. A good movie should have room to build in a sequel but it should not be done in a cliffhangar style or else it should be a regular TV series instead where you can do that sort of thing. If the movie is a cliffhangar then I for one would consider it a copout cheat of the first order.

Eric, I just scanned the entire thread and nobody's advocating a cliffhanger ending. Even the thought of them finding Earth in the final scene isn't bad, particularly considering that's the initial goal of the BSG story. Leave a couple of plot lines available for a sequel is what everyone has said so far, but wrap the main story, make it a stand-alone movie.

Cliffhangers only worked in Star Wars and Lord of the Rings - and they weren't exactly "Perils of Pauline" cliffhangers, either.

Nobody's assuming it's going to be a runaway hit, either. We certainly hope it will be, of course.

Any particular post I missed that prompted your statement?

Eric: I'm thinking cliffhanger as in something that leaves you hungry for more: EX.: the Dark Phoenix image on the lake after Jane Grey dies in X2 (I got walked halfway to the parking lot after the movie, just on the conversation that spawned with my comic-collecting ex-roomate. She was nearly imploding waiting for the movie to end (she'd nearly jumped out of the chair next to me when the image came up) so she could talk about it, LOL. 2 weeks later I got a website URL from her that specifically talked about the Jane Grey history and development into Dark Phoenix.

It's a more subtle thing I'm thinking of than a true cliffhanger. Even the mars rover transmission idea could work for me as a hint of more to come. I said Pegasus, because Glen loves her and if the man's gonna bring us a movie, he should put a nod in toward that which he loves.

I like your options on relationship development. I'm just going to be wishy washy on what I actually want, because I want to be open to the story Glen & Tom may tell us. I know Tom can outstrip my imagination for a story direction and I know Glen can write excellent stuff when he gives himself the time.

One thing I think is under explored: the Colonials have a longer life expectancy than us. 200 yahren. So could we say the time passed is 40 yahren and have the storyline work? So the physical age appearance matches better? Yes, I know that would make Boxey 46, but perhaps he's a bridge officer and not a pilot, or he's a strike commander. Any direction is possible.

Actually it was your statement about "Boxey goes missing and his fate is unknown" that prompted it. That just immediately made me think of the whole cliffhangar ending of Empire Strikes Back.

I would have to agree with those that said they would like the movie to be "open ended". I would like to have the main story to conclude during the first film, but being that we are talking about BSG, which in itself is a "continuing" story, so it really isn't necessary to tie up all the plot threads all at once. The only film version that would have some kind of final conclusion would be if they found Earth and duked it out with the Cylons and won. I would like to see a series of movies, not just a "one off". That, of course would depend largely on Box Office response and studio interest in making more than one film.

I'm patient and confident that one day, we will get to see what most of us want...Lord knows, I've waited this long - I can wait a few more years!

Best,

Amber

thanks Amber I surprised myself with it I have never wrote like that before when I have a bit of time I will improve on it and post it here, any idea for a name of the story??

Eric I like what you have suggested

Maybe Boxey is an indifferent moody pilot who never branches out with people and it's an appearance from his mother that finally sets him straight regarding his relationships with family and others.

yeah that good I would think that Captain Apollo would end up on the bridge and trained in for command where Omaga is a good bridge officer and possably went from the academy to the bridge and never went into combat in a Viper, where as Apollo has and a Commander would want experance in both fields of combat .
and Sheba as second in command that would work she is the daughter of Commander Cain and fought with him side by side and would have picked up a few tricks herself, Tigh should be the Council President and Boxey after losing so much looks at the universe as a place of pain and the return of Serina in some temperary form help him in some way.

But I'd much prefer seeing them together after all these yahrens, the same way with Apollo-Sheba.

good enough for me Starbuck should be the same.

4. Boomer. Have him retired from flying because of some injury and give him Wilker's job since "Hand Of God" established him as capable fo moving into that position. Maybe make him the father of a lead character from the next generation ranks who learned her flying skills from him and Starbuck (I keep thinking Halle Berry).

again that sound good Boomer is a fantastic Character one i like a lot he always seem more tactical minded that either Apollo and Starbuck who fight with the heart and instinct and in the Novels Boomer is made out to be more methodical and that would be a great help to Apollo.

With John Colicos passed away in Toronto, Canada from multiple heart attacks. He was 71. out of your recasting choices I like Anthony Zerbe who I also liked in The Omega man with Charlton Heston.

I would also like to leave the ending of the movie open so that there will be more films made :salute:
all the best

Personally after a glorious 7 year run on ABC tv my ultimate conclusion would be this:

Opening scene: (Cylon Basestar Warstar Class hovers over Caprica, typical cylon music playing in the background).

Gold Centurian (Warrior class) enters imperious leaders chambers.

Centurian:By your command

Imperious leader:Speak Centurian

Centurian: We have lost communication with our outer scanning posts in the Hassari sector. All attempts to raise our support ships and Basestars within the region have failed.

Imperious leader:When was the last reported communication?

Centurian: Listening post omega was the last to report to us 24 centars ago.

Imperious leader: Where is the nearest Basestar contingent?

Centurian: Delta armada is positioned 2 parsecs from the Hassari sector.

Imperious leader: Have Delta armada move within communication of the nearest outpost and investigate this loss of communication.

Centurian: Imperious leader, Delta armada is the only Fleet attack wing protecting this sector of space.

Imperious leader: You have your orders centurian. Now carry them out.

Centurian:By your command.

(Shot exterior Cylon Warstar, music drumb beat playing in the background)

(Shot of Fleet of Cylon Baseships (Delta Armada) entering hyperspace for the Hassari Sector. Fleet consists of 5 Baseships.)

Camera fades out with music drumming in the background. Camera fades back in with shot's of Caprica and children playing in a grassy field. (We realize at this point this is a fade back to the past right before the first attack by the cylons. The attack begins with the grassy field becoming a point of destruction from the cylon attacking raiders. Children and adults running for there lives as the cylons lay waste to the surface of caprica. Shot's of Caprica city being bombed.

The camera pulls away from the surface of Caprica into orbit where it pans around to show Delta armada launching wave after wave of cylon fighters to destroy key positions throughout the surface of Caprica. Shot's of cylon fighters destroying orbiting stations and weapons platforms in orbit around the planet. One by one all Caprica's defenses are destoyed. Explosions can be seen all over the planet. Screams can be heard in the background and no sign of the Colonial Fleet. Within a few Centons the surface of Caprica is devestated. Delta armada moves off to assist the attacks on Gemon, the next closest of the twelve planets. The attack is so well coordinated that it's almost like a swarm of locust chewing up a field of grain. Camera fades to show the armada's lead Basestar leading the other 4 ships into Hyperspace(Background drum music). The Fleet enters hyperspace.

Music continues to play. We move to the future. The Camera focus's on a seemingly quiet area of space. Suddenly out of hyperspace a Cylon Basestar emerges. Most of her lower sections is on fire. Parts of the ship is breaking away as fire's seem to be out of control throughout the vessel. The ship seems to be listing to one side and cannot maintain it's overall inertia. It drifts alone as a sitting duck waiting for it's last breath. The Camera still focusing on the point it entered this area of space. The Ships drifts further away from it's emergence point into the sector. Music dies down, a dull hum is in the background. The Camera remains focused. Suddenly the traditional Galactica opening music begins. Low at first but continues to increase in volume. As the camera zooms in out of hyperspace emerges a Battlestar. The Camera follows down the side of the great ship until we get to the nameplate, it is the Battlestar Galactica. Behind her wave after wave of advanced viper fighters emerge from hyperspace as well followed by a new class and fleet of Colonial Battlestars.

In the distance we see the one lone Cylon Warstar hovering above Caprica. She is alone now and this time surprise is on the colonials side.

Oh well, sounds good anyways, hehe.

Sounds great Titan!

On the cliffhanger debate: I liked the original Star Wars. I didn't like the end of Empire Strikes back. A one episode story with a conclusion but plenty of unresolved possibilities if they made more, which they did worked better.

It is for this reason I like the ending where you see Earth but don't know what it means. Where is the Earth technologically? Is the Earth even populated with humans anymore? Will the colonials be welcomed or repulsed? If they never make another we can think the quest ended in triumph. Possibilities are infinite however to make another movie.

Well, if ya want to see what I would like to see in a Galactica continuation...read "Battlestar Galactica: Dark Exodus"... I think it pretty much sums up what I would like to see. (Thanks for the mention of the story earlier Antelope. That was extremely flattering.) :salute:

P.S. I've read some of these ideas, and I agree that there are many others who should take to writing fanfics. The format in which you've presented your ideas is exactly the manner in which "Dark Exodus" was conceived.
