View Full Version : Can the Ban Be Lifted?

Now that the flame wars have died down, can we lift the ban on www.galactica2003.net.?
I continue to post articles & news stories here from that site, and I can get around it by referring to galactica2003.
So there will still be people checking out that site.
As several of the owners (including myself) have supported CFF monetarily,
I think it would be a nice move to do- for all involved.

koenig,
Are you saying that YOU are part owner of the G2003 website, or of Media Blvd? I am aware that you are a Moderator of MB, for which, sorry for this being belated, I do congratulate you!

koenig,
Thanks for the information. I'll run it past the rest of the staff but, I'm inclined to say, up front, that the answer will probably be No. Primarily, due to the continued involvement of Ted Gorospe. You may have a different opinion of him due to your daily interaction on MB and the G03 sites; however, in our environment, Ted has been the cause of much heartache over the past several years and that heartache has NOT nor will ever be forgotten. It's unfortunate that others must still "pay the price" for his indescretions.
On the other hand, if Ted is no longer involved in the ownership or staff of MB, you are most welcome to post a news or story link to the MB site.

Well, one can always dream of a peace existing among all.
I guess it's just not meant to be!
At least I tried.

I think there is peace in the valley now.
No obvious activities are directed at the "other sides."

All this sounds very interesting. Can anyone give us that have no clue as to what's going on a heads up without "getting too much into it"?

You really want to know? You really really want to know? It's a really sad, pointless and boring story. I wish it never happened...any of it, but if you really really really want to know, there's only way for you to get the whole complete and accurate history of the Clone Wars and that's to go read one of John Laroque's synopses of it all. A warning though, it''ll require quite a bit of time to read as it covers a period of time in excess of well over a year (some of the seeds to it were sown way back in April of 2002!) on several well known BSG BB's. There are literally dozens and dozens of key players involved, and not all of them are real people, even though it appears that way. One more thing....after reading all that, you'll know way more things about it than you even wanted to.
Start here:

And it continues here:

If you want more after reading that, drop a note here. (but then we'll all know you're insane!)
Good luck! You'll need it.....................

Westy -
I can appreciate your desire to fill in some of the blanks for those that weren't around for those darker days of BSG online fandom, but you're playing with hornet's nest here. You're inviting people to visit events that they didn't take part in and to comment on as well - a big mistake to my mind.
If some of our newer folks wish to explore the links that Westy has posted here, that's fine, but I also go as far to say that comment on those past events in a thread at CF is best not explored in a public manner. If you care to discuss it with other members off-forum thru PM or e-mail, that would be acceptable.
My main concern is that to invite public comment on those events could cause a negative disruption of more than one BSG forum and the memberships therein.
The past is best left in the past....there are some things best left behind us.
Sincerely,
Bryan

I think it should be kept to a short explaination.
Over a long period of time, people have made enemies, or made themselves enemies to certain groups of people.
It is a thing best left in the past, but every so often, some flare-up reminds everyone why they were mad.

I pointed someone to a place where they could get the facts. If I had that opportunity when I started coming around, alot of things would be different for me now. Let me make something clear, I'm not in any way, shape or form intending to talk about any of that stuff in public, specially here....hopefully never too, but if someone inquires about it, I'd rather have the person's questions answered by reading THAT stuff than getting it from....certain unnamables. I don't think sweeping all that stuff under the rug is the answer...you know, "forget the past and you're doomed to relive it" and all that. I'm a little taken aback by that response actually. I didn't talk about it, I didn't mention any names, I didn't try to spin anything, all I did was link to a few good places with all the facts showing plain as day for anyone to read. What's wrong with that?
EDITED:
Oh ok Bryan, I see the problem. I said "drop a note here". OK, let me clear that up then.
"Drop a note" means ask for more links so I can learn more, "Drop a note" does NOT mean rehash and bring to the surface any of that in public here at CF.

just the way it should be Tom. Let it lay and forget it and move on. I certainly don't want to get caught up in it!

It's very simple. Trying to collectively gain ground to a cohesive plan to make all the sites play nice together has been one of my biggest goals form day one. BUT with that being said the G3 site from it's inception has done nothing but include content from other sites to make itself look good. WITHOUT giving credence to where they got the content. Including renders from yours truely of my work for the Galactica mini series.
I have absolutely no problem with others displaying work that was done for Zoic studios but i do have a problem with it when it comes down to simple ethics.

As I started this thread & the decision has been made to continue to ban the site (for reasons I disagree with), may we close this thread and hopefully move on?
