Am having oodles of fun with this new crock pot. So far I made chuck roast stew, my mom's famous baked beans (first time for that, cuz in an oven they take 8 hours, and that's a no-no in 90 degree heat), and tonight, chicken cacciatorre (sp?). And I didn't burn any of them ONCE! :D
So when anyone tells ya, "that's a crock", smile and say, "why thank you!" :D

My neighbor gave me a nice one, but I don't really know how to use it. The only recipie I have for one is for oatmeal. I guess I should look up a couple.

Gokky, I remember beef stew in a crock pot. My dad used to make Churico and beans in it. Had it once and never ate it again as it was too spicy for me. Churico for those of you who are wondering what it is, is a spicy sausage.

Hi Bsg! I am trying to cook stuff you normally don't associate with a crock pot, but that make dinner prep easier. Actually steaks bertrand is supposed to be cooked in a shallow electric fryer, but seems to me this should work just as well. It's thin strips of steak slow cooked in white wine and swiss cheese. Yummy!

Sounds good! I wonder if I could talk Mrs. Warhammerdriver into trying that.
(My kids probably wouldn't like it, tho.)
We've done turkey breast in ours. It's falling off the bones when we get home from work.
